I'm a Heeney trader.

Figured his ankle would be be bothering him for a while like it did in the first two weeks.  That theoretically meant he'd be playing predominantly forward.

From the outside looking in now I'm still confident his price will drop before the bye so I can bring him back in.

Those who traded out Heeney were making an aggressive correctional trade decision. Sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't. To win the $50k you have to make some bold moves at the start. I kept Heeney, but I can see why some people went the aggressive correctional trade option.

Just goes to show that Billings and Hibberd (maybe Martin this year?), are exceptions to the rule, rather than the norm.

Don't forget Zorko 2018, Matt Crouch 2018, Merrett 2018, Shaw 2017, Goldstein 2017, JPK 2017, Hannebery 2017, Parker 2017, Rance 2017, Jacobs 2016, McVeigh 2016, Brodie Smith 2015, Birchall 2015, Malceski 2015, Montagna 2014, Watson 2013, Cotchin 2013, Murphy 2013, Duffield 2013, Scott Thompson 2013, Goodes 2012 etc.

That brought back nightmares typing that list out haha but yeah premiums fail more than people think and coaches that made early corrections on the players we have listed would have been very satisfied with their decision.

I think what also needs to be appreciated is that people approach the game from different perspectives. Some people focus on league, while other people focus on achieving the best overall rank they can (I fall in the second category).

The "never trade your premiums" rule might apply to someone playing the league long game who just wants to have their team cherry ripe for the last 4 rounds of the season, but it has less relevance for teams focusing on overall who need as many points as they can before the byes (post-byes is the stage of the year when everyone finishes their teams and it becomes harder to make up ground).

I considered moving heeney but in the end kept him. However i moved out Oliver for Lloyd and Dmart for Libba 2 moves similar to dumping heeney.

Dmart to Libba was amazing and Oliver to Lloyd is looking pretty good.

nothing wrong with being aggressive, this time it just didnt pay off.

And don’t forget that if Heeney got accidentally knocked out when he was on 30 points last night, you’d be a nuffie for keeping him...

or if you suggested  to trade a player in that that was already in 85,647 teams, that would be terrible advise.  ???

you make a very good point. there is exceptions to the rule. just very hard to judge when to make the move

An ongoing ankle problem that started in the pre-season and a hip injury he copped in Round 4 have somewhat diluted Heeney’s brilliance.
read that and for a brief moment I did not regret trading him for crisp in Rd3 as a correctional trade.

$511k with a BE of 158 and no Buddy again this week.  8)

yes going to do a dusty with this bloke trade him out and back in in the same season.   Would like to see the swans rest him for two/three weeks (assuming he scores <80 this week) and then i bring him during the byes.

Lol, there's good money to be saved doing this with Danger. The bottom should fall out his price aswell. Something like a danger to fyfe sideways this week while everybody parks him on the bench. Then a RO'B sideways to danger in a couple weeks when he bottoms out. If Danger plays this week, he'll be playing sore and this will show in $.
