I'd prioritise rookies this week.
Bailey Smith > Butters or Atkins or LDU.
Hore > Clark

Give Heeney 1 more chance then you can trade to Lloyd if he flops against Carlton.
On the other hand if funds are so tight that Heeney's cash drop will put Lloyd out of reach then just do the 1st trade and get Lloyd now.
thanks ubeaut - sadly i need the cash from downgrading smith to make lloyd happen.    really like the look of ldu.  i was hoping hore would play a couple of weeks while may was out.
my pref is ldu, butters atkins.    ldu best scorer, butters best cash return, atkins js?
think i will sit pretty on heeney (be nice for swans to rest him) i can then start clark and move moore back to fwds to cover heeney.
cash and points grab on ldu/clarke.
fallback if problems arise is goldy to phillips for cash to fix any unexpected problems.

Heeney's ankle is a concern. According to Horse he's tweaked twice since the start of JLT so it's not something that's mild but what has me conflicted is he's still playing so how bad is it. :-\
I read a comment from Hoarse suggesting he's no certainty to get up this week or i'm reading to much into that ?

OK guys need some help with trades.

Possible OUTS
Balta, Hore, Wagner, Burgess

Possible INS
Parker, Scrimshaw, Gibbons, LDU..

Thinking BALTA will play at least the next month.
HORE even if named could be straight back out for May.
BURGESS poor scorer but at least playing. Don't need his DPP now I've got Rozee.
WAGNER needs to go if not named, but could hold off for Hately?

PARKER looks a good option, won't score that well every week but has good JS
SCRIMSHAW looks OK, can we trust Clarko?
Not sure GIBBONS is worth a trade in...
LDU looking awesome, but would cost 80k,and has Ahern and Jacobs to return.

So Parker will come in. Not sure who for, or the other trade?

I also have Heeney and Dunkley, but priority is cash generation/rookies.
Kelly will come in next week if need be.
big fan of ldu,  he needed last year to develop,  showing what he can do.  parker is the reliable js guy needed in fwds due to lack of depth.    scrimshaw just because who else is their,  collins, burgess do u want them starting?

ankles are suss once you have an issue.   heeney needs to be rested, not playing on a ?? ankle.   another reason to trade him or watch the slow leakage week in week out

Thinking of giving Heeney and Dunkely the boot, not convinced on them atm and they are a real worry.

Heeney > Whitfield via Moore (gives me a premo up back)

Dunkley > T.Kelly (Had Kelly in and out of my team all pre season. Looking like a top 3 forward)

B - Whitfield, Williams, Smith, Scrimshaw, Clark, Duursma (Wilkie, Hore)

M - Macrae, Cripps, Oliver, Fyfe, Neale, M.Crouch, Walsh, Constable (Scott, Atkins, Gibbons)

R - Grundy, Gawn (Bines)

F - Dangerfield, T.Kelly, Moore, Setterfield, Drew, Parker (Burgess, Balta)

Forward lines a bit weak but should hold out till upgrade time.

I like the above 2 trades, fixes the structure of my team a bit by getting a back premo in and I get a more reliable forward in with T.Kelly. More guaranteed mid time than Dunkley.

Couldn't agree more about ankles mate. They can bring the very best of them undone easily.
My main worry if rested is one weeks rest going to do the trick or will it be a couple.
Us owners are between a rock and a hard place, when fit he'll be in the middle I don't doubt that
and he'll score as we expected him to. I don't have the answers to my own questions regarding what to do.
It's a damned if you do damned if you don't dilemma I know that much.

Why are people dumping Dunkley?? Scored 99 round one, and round 2 had the second most CBA for the dogs ball just didn’t fall his way

Hey, JM, good to see you are still about!

At this early stage, I'd say they could both still work out. I know there are doubts.
All the same, you went into the season thinking the backline was adequate, and that Dunkley was a better deal than Kelly. Interested to know what has happened in the 2 weeks so far to make you think those were bad decisions.

I've decided to dump both Heeney and Dusty for Broach and Moore.  leaves me with over $500,000 in the kitty.

I have danger, kelly and boak in the fwds and whitfield, williams and smith in the back half

Cripps, Fyfe, Neil and both crouches in the Mids

got all the rookies I wanted

That's just bringing in 2 guys that will most likely need to be upgraded though so you're essentially burning 4 trades to correct 2 players. Don't see the point in that at all. Atleast one needs to become a safe premium that you'll keep

most likely to need a couple weeks to recover,  hard to see sydney supporting this, so underdone heeney playing without mid time and fitness we expect.   not promising is it?

Cheers mate.

Well with the backline I had Ridley there originally and I was reasonably comfortable with a cheap backline as it worked for me last year.

But when Ridley got dropped I traded him to Wilkie to make some cash and moved Moore to the backline via Burgess which has now left my forward line a bit weak. Parker is now at M6.

I just can't see Dunkley consistently toning up compared to T.Kelly with Libba and Wallis in the mids now stealing points off him.

That's just the way I see it atm. With Heeney well that's been pretty well covered here already as to why I have my doubts on him now.  ;)

Not at all. If he continues playing he'll bleed cash and points.
That's a bad recipe.

Possibly Dusty to T Kelly.

Given I went deeper in the mids, I can then have  Kelly forward  (Setterfield DPP) and play 2 of Butters, Scott and Constable on field instead
