Slightly off topic but it is not the correctional trades we need, well most of us anyway. For a lot of the cookie cutter seasoned coaches like myself it is the Grundy/Gawn/Brouch/Libba (+ Oliver for those that have him) combo we need to fire to peg back some of those 20,000 - 30,000 coaches ahead of us.

If you trade those guys to match the teams that got the jump on you, you’re not catching up. However if those guys start scoring like they should (and I’m guessing they will), then you’ll likely catch up on all the guys that didn’t pick them. That’s why you back your premos, unless they show they can’t return to scoring form over a few games.

It's a balance. You don't want to miss an underpriced guy firing with no signs of slowing down, but you don't want to move on a guy you backed unless it's clear they're injured or in a new role.

Jay Lockhart rumoured to come in for Melbourne, 102k MID/DEF.

Would certainly solve my problems going Balta to him, but what a risk!
Any danger he replaces Hore in the Melbourne team?

Was thinking this myself.

Exactly. If our teams were identical, except you picked Sloane and Sheed, whilst I picked Oliver and Libba you’d be around 150 points in front. If I traded to match right now it leaves me less unique options to catch up when scores could easily reverse next round.

If I’m leading the race and don’t have Grundy and Gawn, I’m HOPING people trade them now...

Didn't think of it like that. Clever

Things look worse because it’s rd1. Grundy scored a 95 rd1 last year. Oliver scored 75(!) in rd3, but because he had a 123 and 146 in the first round, it doesn’t seem such a big deal. He also had a 59 against the Saints last year, but it’s his average over the season that made him a great pick.

Wrong to trade premiums after one game as you brought them with intention to keep. Rookies though is another issue and that is the hard decision do we keep hoping they get another game or trade eg Balta and maybe Hore if he gets dropped,

You're not a seasoned coach if you want to trade Gawn or Grundy

id disagree 10th year in the game and im considering the move.

I wouldnt move Gawn but if grundy goes low again then making the aggressive move to dump a guy who will bleed cash and has one premo season is a reasonable move.

I think he will score well and we weont have to consider it but if Grundy goes sub 85 ill dump him.

Is Oliver to Sheed and Greene to Westhoff a waste of 2 trades

Why not?

RaisyDaisy

Bit of carnage already

Balta, Hore, Greene, Pierce, Joyce and Ridley all gone

Yikes!

I knew Hore was a shower pick, but I fell for him anyway because he was just a bench spot

Need to use 2 rookie correctional trades, and I might as well do them now so that I have 2 trades next week just in case

Hore to Wilkie
Balta to Parker

Feeling confident in Wilkie?
