Pretty easy one for me.

If Grundy doesn’t look right tomorrow night, I will trade Collins this week so i have two available next week to deal with Grundy and a missed rookie. If Grundy looks good, then holding.
Not a bad idea.
Agree.
Not sure if it has been posted here but Collins also plays the last game... if he isn't named due to concussion/fitness test or is a late withdrawal for the same reason he can be used as a loophole with other defensive rookies too.
Lots to consider and play out.
My opinion on trading in R2 is there's nothing wrong with it. Having 2 trades up your sleeve in R3 is more important if you've got more than 2 things to worry about. He who hesitates is lost. Agree about previous comments re: carrying Billings and Hibberd in 2018.
I might do Balta to Parker this week just in case I need to act on an injury or one of my rucks or Collins or to get someone to good to refuse (Rocky/Sheed/Boak/Newman)

Worth giving Balta one more week to see how he goes in a new role in the back line
Teams announced and he has been omitted.
Throws a spanner in the works..
Love it.   there is one trade lots of people will be making.  30 starters last week in my team prior to teams being released.   Traded two this week as some structural flaws surfaced.  Prefer not to trade but comfortable with the decision.   Next week I need two trades in case additional correction trades required and I have been burnt trying to squeeze 3 trades into 2.  Just does not work and you are in catchup mode for what seems like forever.

So you're saying I should trade Collins?

Yes. I know I am (unless he is named and Scrimshaw/Hore are dropped)

LaHug

Collins will be extended bench I'm guessing so makes it harder.

Balta to Parker looks a lock

Mat0369

Or he will be a late withdrawal Saturday arvo with the concussion.

Fid

Got Parker, Petruccelle and Setterfield

So I'll hold on Balta till next week and look at Libba or Cousins via Drew

Sabretooth Tigers

 :)

Had no intention of trading, and still may not.  But must give due consideration to Balta and S Collins.  Balta to M Parker is a no-brainer even though I think Balta will get plenty of games. They have to be generating cash.  S Collins will depend on how Dangerfield, my VC, goes as he can be my loop hole if not selected or he can become Hind or Duursma. Was impressed with Salem this week.

::)

+1 on the no trade policy until ....
No Balta
No Greene
Have the $ to revisit Greene => Kelly, Boak, Dunkley, Westoff
Have Danger, Heaney, Settlefield, Parker and Petruccelle

RaisyDaisy

I started Greene knowing that he was my risky pick, and I knew that he would miss games and I was ok with that because I knew the risks, but geez I thought he'd last more than 1 flowering game before missing

The urge is real to make 2 correctional structure trades, turning him into a proper reliable prem

But I'm also thinking I should just bench him, cop the rookie crap score and take the long term approach

Greene out makes things tough. Think I'll bite the bullet on Balta > Parker and have Parker EMG so get 2 cracks at the cherry with him and Petrol Jelly (if he isn't dropped)

Depending on Ridley's score will consider Wilkie in down back next week and use the money to upgrade Crouch/B Smith (if score is meh), or to upgrade Greene if he isn't back.

I'm in the same boat RD. Annoyed I don't have more cash so can't use 1 trade to get up to Worpel. Have to remember it is a long flight to Perth though, over 4 hours. They'll want him primed for Richmond at home next week.

Who do you have that allows you to loop Parker/Petruccelle?

Balta out as well doesn't give me much room to move, but that 'crap rookie score' for me would have been Parker last week, for 9 points more than Greene, so I'm hoping he backs that up!

lmao of course! Oops  :-[

I guess if we do Balta to Parker it does give us 2 cracks at it, so I guess that's something

Good point js19 re the Perth travel - but at the same time if he is missing games already, and based on history there's probably a good chance he will miss eventually again as well

So, do we cut ties instantly, move on and never look back? Or do we hold and hope?

I don't have enough cash to turn him into anyone decent either, so I'd have to do 2 full on structural correctional trades, and I can't believe I am even thinking this but my gut has been telling me all week that Dusty won't be a great pick, so I could swap him for someone like *gulp* Rocky, then turn Greene into a prem forward

Sounds desperate, but it could turn out be an inspired move too. I usually don't have the balls to make trades like that, and that's pushing me more to actually step outside "the rules" and do it for once

The only trade I'd be keen on at the moment is Greene to Newman, but I don't have Burgess, only Moore, so I'd need to do the trade before tomorrow's game. I'd like another look at Newman anyways, so reckon I'll hold at this stage.

Frustratingly early for general soreness though, for sure

_wato

I'm actually sitting on the fence big time

The more I think about it though is that he's got 'general soreness' after 1 FLOWERING WEEK, it really doesn't bode well for a 23 round season. I picked him as a keeper not a stepping stone. Weird thing is the club wanted 20 games out of him, and he's missing week 2 already.

They said 'he's done the work' and he genuinely looked good v Essendon. So annoyed.

Other bad thing is that he plays for Giants so doubt we hear SFA about it if it is indeed an injury. And before we know it he misses the next 5 weeks.
