Howdy all.

I am another Oliver owner and am thinking of ditching him next week if he scores under 100.

Like Holz I want to trade due to getting my structure right.

I went with 6 premo mids (M.Crouch at M6) so think I went a bit heavy there and as a result my backline is a bit thin (have thrown Moore up there this week to strengthen it)

Trade ideas I am thinking of are as follows -

Oliver > Lloyd via Duursma

Oliver > Sheed and Walsh > Worpel via Setterfield

Oliver > Sheed and Walsh > Rocky

Oliver > Sheed and Walsh > Newman via Duursma

Team -

B - Williams, Smith, Moore, Ridley, Clark, Duursma (Scrimshaw, Hore)

M - Macrae, Cripps, Oliver, Fyfe, Neale, M.Crouch, Scott, Constable (Walsh, Atkins, Gibbons)

R - Grundy, Gawn (Bines)

F - Dangerfield, Heeney, Dunkley, Setterfield, Drew, Parker (Balta, Burgess)

INB4 Sheed does well this weekend, everyone trades him in, then Gaff returns Round 3 and Sheed goes back to 80ish

At least you should make 100k :P

Gaff played in both JLT's though and Sheed went off his nut.

I am weary though of Gaff affecting Sheed long term by stealing his points.  :-\

This game isn't won by playing it safe champ.

in the past i have held off, done necessary corrective trades.  this yr stuff it  getting stuck straight in.     think more correctional trades may be needed.
went 7 deep in the mids  with cripps oliver neale brayshaw sheed libba bcrouch walsh.  believe i am forgoing cash generation capability.   happy with my rookies except too much cash for bailey smith and i want another mid rookie.   so libba to rookie tom atkins/m gibbons for cash, durrsma to mids and b smith becomes wilkie.    team looks better and i have 283k in kitty.

Burgess? Didn’t see any of the game.

My advice - FWIW - hold your premiums, value your trades, wait for rookies to be selected just before their price is for to go up
rather than going a week early unless your team really is a s bad as Essendon.  :P
Yes sir

The winner one year ran out of trades rd18 or so I think, and the trade isn’t wasted if it pays off. That’s the fun of it, and that’s the game. You can make a trade everyone think is great, and it fails, or you can make a trade everyone think is rubbish and it turns out to be a genius move...

I'm thinking of trading SuperCoach for an outside hobby this season. Maybe some nature hikes or something. Thoughts?

It's not wasting trades if Oliver spuds it up again, goes under 100 and trading him helps me bring in Sheed\Rocky and Worpel\Newman if they all ton up again.  8)

Hey JM. I think it's a good idea to get the structure right. I wouldn't do any of those trades though.
Option 1 wastes Duursma on your mid bench(or Scott/Constable) he should be on field in the backline.
The other 3 options trade Walsh. I wouldn't do that.
My suggestion is Oliver > Butters and Hore/Scrimshaw (both have shaky JS) > Lloyd.
Then put Moore fwd depending on Parkers match ups. For example this week you could play him against the Bombers over Clark/Duursma but otherwise leave him on the bench and play the defenders.
Would fix structure and get a good mid rookie in for a defender rookie with shaky JS. Butters is a gun.

That's another good option actually.

If Sheed and Rocky both score over 130 again though I will be mighty tempted to go Oliver > Sheed and Walsh > Rocky as it would be crazy to miss out on them both I reckon.

LaHug

It's been said a million times but be careful bringing in Sheed and Rocky next week with Gaff and Wines coming back in. No certainty it'll hurt their scoring but it might.
