I should probably start my planning seeing as the games start tomorrow...

Current thoughts:
Defence: Williams, B.Smith
Midfield: Cripps, Bontempelli, D.Martin, M.Crouch, B.Crouch, Walsh, Setterfield
Ruck: -
Fwd: Dangerfield, Gray, Billings, Greene

Those are the ones that I can't see leaving my team. If any of them go it's Bont that goes and Sloane that comes in. I have no idea on the rucks at all, if I could I'd pick two cheap guys and go premium-less.

What’s your reasoning behind Bont? Surely he’d be a chance to play a lot of midfield minutes?

I didn't pick him in 2015 when he had fwd status. I got annoyed that "Bont scaling" became a thing. He'd always find a way to get cheap SC points and it was frustrating to watch. So since then I've started him every year out of spite, expecting the same thing. He's also a left footer and being one myself I just love other left footers.

As for actual SC reasoning, he did average 104 last year though and it was a pretty down year, he was stuck forward for long periods of the game. If he does go fwd this year hopefully there's more 1 on 1 space for him, and he's great in that regard. And if he plays midfield he will obviously go well, Macrae maybe attracts more attention from him too?

Can't split a few players? Pick the one you like watching the most, it keeps the fun in it!

The definition of mid price madness? There are 7 of them in the side, but many are popular selections.

Like the team Darcy is a massive pod. Is Sandi injured or has Darcy overtaken him?

Also I would put Balta on the bench ;)

Sandi has a calf injury which is listed as TBC so I'm pretty safe that I'll have Darcy for a few weeks at the very least.

Yeah, I wish I could :'(

Darcy was one I was considering early in the pre-season until I saw his scores last year. I'm worried he doesn't win enough of the pill but he becomes Mummy easily enough.

Bont paid of UUUUUGGGEEEEE. Rory Sloane also looking like a fantastic pick early. Well done on both selections.

Score: 1993
Rank: 69,256
Trades left: 30

Star: Bontempelli
Lock: Rory Laird
Fail: Noah Balta
Worry: Toby Greene
Watching: Darcy Moore

So I'm not overly annoyed at my team despite the score, had I played Drew over Balta it would be 85 points higher and things are fine. The trouble I have leading into Round 2 is that Greene and Balta are both out, and Sam Collins is a doubt. The issues here come with whether I want to use two trades this week, jump off Greene in the process.

If I decide to trade out Greene I think I need to then grab a premium defender with that. The safest move would be to go Balta to Atkins (via Sett) or Parker and just field the rookie, bench Toby for the week. But the guy has general soreness after one match, it might be safer to just jump off now.

Not alone in what to do this week. Normally recommendation is do not trade after Rd 1 but with so many underperformers and rookies not being selected, So decision is do I do one trade this week to allow 2 next week for corrections or rsik another week to observe and bench hoping they play next week.
Do not mind the Balta trade if you have to.

PICCOLLO

Love the Bont pick. Some ballsy stuff. Nice.

Greene has a calf issue. Might be worth holding though?

Don't like the Collins pick. Getting Moore in for him would be advantageous if you can work it out.

Round 2 Trades:
Greene -> Moore
Balta -> Atkins (Oh how I wish i went Parker right now)

Team Pre-Round 3 trades, but after making subs etc

Score: 2129
Rank: 69,875 (-619)
Trades left: 28

Star: Liberatore
Lock: Dangerfield
Fail: Darcy
Worry: Dusty
Watching: Neale

So an okay score, but move slightly down in the ranks. If I trade twice this week it's Dusty that goes out in one trade, and Parker that comes in in another. I think going Dusty -> Lloyd makes sense, swings a 3rd mid rookie on field at the expensive of Setterfield, and gets the number 1 defender in.

If Hore is not named then I probably go Hore to Parker, swinging Burgess back.

Read an article saying that Darcy was limited to running laps this week. You may have to go Darcy>Mummy or find a way to grab Hoff for a ruck swing
