Tom Lynch is pushing for a round 1 start. Apparently he’s said he’s ready to go according to a FoxFooty article, so could be a very very slight chance...

I personally hope he doesnt get up so Balta is named for 1 game and sucks in 20% of teams

I'm conflicted. As a Richmond fan, I hope he does get up. For the sake of SC, I also hope he doesn't so that I don't have to find a way to get Dusty into my side. If Lynch is playing Round 1, Dusty is playing almost pure midfield and I'm finding a way to bring him in.

Lynch was coming in at some point early on, so why does that influence picking Dmart if lynch plays round 1 or if he plays round 2?

If he gets a gig then it’s a better sign of his position in the team, for sure. Not sure I’d pick him still though...

Exactly. I would've rather him miss and people question the selection. For me it's a no brainer for Dusty.

Because there was every chance Lynch came back through the VFL, didn't look as fit as he hoped, and had a few more weeks before he was ready. That would be enough for Dusty to fall in price a little bit, particularly with Caddy also out.

Maybe for starting him. It would make Dusty a certainty though because Balta takes up even more forward minutes so Dusty's almost pure mid at the stage.

I think Balta will get named, but as soon as Caddy comes back into the side, then I don’t see how there is going to be room for him, unless he ends up having games like his first JLT game.

That's fine then. Caddy is at least 4 weeks away and probably comes back through the VFL. So that's 5 weeks of games at a minimum if he's holding Caddy's spot. Not unusual for any rookie to only last 5 games and it could still end up being more.

I really can't see the difference in picking Dusty based on whether Lynch plays round 1 or round 2. There is zero logic unless it was a toss of the coin decision and it came down to whether Lynch played round 1 or not.

Lynch might even end up being a late withdrawal in the end because he has had no pre-season and Tigers might be doing a bit of tactical smoke and mirrors.
