59k left
Def: Llyoyd, witherden, williams, roberton, collins, clark (burgess, watson)
mid: Macrae, Oliver, Kelly, Cripps, b.crouch, miles, hately, constable (Hayes, Atkins, Gibbons)
Ruc: grundy, goldy (schlensog)
fwd: Danger, heeney, darling, setterfield, balta, drew (parker, cavarra)

What is everyones thoughts on my team?

backline has been pretty set for a while apart from possibly upgrading witherden to Laird if cash becomes available.

Trying to pick the top tier midfielders so i dont miss out on players who are averaging quite alot.

Goldy not locked but currently the best choice apart for R2 because i dont want to spend 700k on another ruckman.

For the fwd line apart from heeney and dangerfield i have alot of uncertainty on which forwards will actually be good picks this year.

I just put brad crouch in, however that cash may possibly be moved to f4 to greene or another cheapish forward.

Pretty solid team, I'm a fan of the Darling POD with the new rules this year which will cause many 1v1s.

Just some things to consider:
- I'm not sure on having both BCrouch and Miles, I think you should have a maximum of 1 midpricer per line. Which means instead of miles you could get Greene for the same price in the fwd line.
- I wouldn't upgrade Witherden to Laird. Having both Lloyd and Laird is too much $ in my opinion, and I can't see both of them maintaining 110+, particularly Lloyd.
- You don't really have any value premo mids, the likes of MCrouch/Dusty/Merrett/Sloane/Zorko/Brayshaw. Instead of BCrouch you could find some cash (Macrae > Neale) and upgrade him to one of them potentially. (That's what I did this morning and my team looks much better)

thanks mate
-yeah me either. I chucked brad crouch in instead of another value priced fwd because i was struggling to find any good options. If Greene plays JLT 2 and plays really well then id pick him. How i see it atm is there should be enough fwd rookies to play 3 on fields and if i compare brad crouch and greene, crouch is more likely to average more due to his role and both are injury risks.
-yeah totally agree that i dont have any value mids (would get matt crouch if i get one) such as a couple of years ago i had tom mitchell when he started at 560k and averaged 118 for the year. I just have the feeling by picking all for of those super premos ill be more likely starting with more midfielders who can potentially average 120+

team update
-1.5k in bank
-kelly to cogs
-have gotten brodie smith into the team due to his outstanding jlt games.
-and have made a couple of rookie changes

Def: Lloyd, witherden, williams, Smtih, roberton, collins (clark, watson)
mid: Macrae, Oliver, Cripps, Coniglio, B.crouch, Walsh, Butters, Constable (Hayes, Scott, Gibbons)
Ruc: grundy, goldy (schlensog)
fwd: Danger, heeney, darling, setterfield, Burgess, drew (parker, Schultz)

At the moment my main concerns is having not a strong enough fwd line and having too many midpricers in my backline (even though i see them all as great picks). What do you guys think?

alex1234

can you please not start darling so he’s my pod

awesome thanks dude

Fwd line is definitely strong enough. Many seem to be running Danger, Heeney and a 3rd prem or Greene. Defence runs deep which is a good idea based on it looking like there won't be many def rookies to choose from.

I'd probably rather have Greene in the fwd line than Smith in the backline, but thats personal preference and both should be good options.

very very solid team mate, only saying that because you have literally mirrored my team to the T, including my change up in Darling

the only thing i can query you on is the same thing i myself am interested in, why have you gone weaker in the backline as opposed to the mids, is this due to the ability of the rookies?

having a weaker backline wasnt what i initially planned for, and something id still like to address (possibly trading greene to get more cash). I have spent more cash in the mids because thats where you get the most points from and there are many midfielders who from year to year that have maintained a high output due to being in a desirable position of always being close to the ball. In terms of defensive rookies its not because of their ability, but these players often play are supercoach friendly role as defenders often share the ball around.

This year the biggest reason why my backline is so weak is because i have picked alot of top tier players do to their potential of captaincy scores and high ceiling.  Furthermore, i have struggled to find suitable options around the 450-520k zone so Im hoping some of the top defenders start poorly so they lose cash.
