Balta was great and apparently has been all pre season but it's hard to see where he gets in. Can play a lot of positions but assuming if he breaks into the side it will be as a forward and 2nd ruck.

HF: Caddy, Riewoldt, Edwards
FF: Rioli, Lynch, Higgins

Lambert, Dusty, Butler, Castagna the others to spend time there.

If he performs like that in JLT 2 he will have to force his way in but it's going to mean Richmond changing a lot about what's worked so well for them for 2 years

That is happening anyways with lynch ... but yes I understand your point

Utility bench spot

Yeah that's what I mean. Lynch is already shaking it up so having another big guy would be a huge change.

Like I said though, he can't be ignored if he plays like that again next week. I just worry that he could be in 1 week and out the next depending on who we play etc

Balta has the potential to play midfield too, that's the beauty of having him in the side. Had 3 clearances today which was the equal of Dusty & Cotch. The versatility he brings will be invaluable, particularly with the new ruck rules allowing players to just grab the ball from the throw-ins. Would be very surprised if he gets dropped as I cannot see Grigg ever rucking for Richmond again. I wouldn't be too preoccupied with height, that to me is a bonus, he's quick over the turf & good at ground level.

Cotch and Dusty only played till 3QT but yes you're right, Balta is definitely versatile and can play a number of roles. Will be interesting to see how he goes next week and what Dimma has to say about him

ORAAAAAZIO

Not good for those planning on starting Clarke if Essendon don't even try him with Belly

JLT 1 - 85min
JLT 2 - 62min

No injury that I’m aware of. I’d imagine they’ve seen enough and are just managaung a young player who spent the majority of his first year hampered by injury.

Was hoping Matt wouldn't pick up any more owners than he already had. Wishful thinking clearly  ::)
