So nearly every year i look back and think i wish i started a stronger midfield. This year im hoping i can bite the bullet and do it. I also try to go Guns and Rookies and regret every mid pricer. At the moment i have some mid pricers in Williams, B.Crouch and Roberton but all 3 are injured premos pumping out 90+, high 90s and 90+ respectively. Billings also kinda a mid pricer but been a premo in the past with half of last year and all of the year before.

Laird, Whitfield, Williams, Roberton, Durrsma, Quaynor (Burgees, Hore)
Cripps, Oliver, M.Crouch, Zerrett, D.Martin, B.Crouch, Bewley, Hind (Sparrow, Constable, Gibbons)
Grundy, Goldy (Fort)
Danger, Heeney, Billings, Setterfield, Cavara, Parker (Drew,Petrucelle )

90k in the bank

The general thinking of this team is that im no longer aiming to finish with the best of the best, I want to finish with a very good team, very early and then pocket 3-4 trades for injuries. So Williams, Witherden, Crouch i plan on being keepers even if they arent the best of the best. If i can get my mid to Cripps, Oliver, Kelly, Macrae, Zerret, Dusty, Crouch, Crouch i feel that is strong enough.

Don’t mind the set up but

87 back to back years, think we can expect a 85-90 from him, probably not ideal with Lloyd Laird Sicily Whitfield Simpson probably pushing 95+ and some other break out guy.

whitfield 97 and 99  back to back showing that he should go 95+ regardless of his role. Dont mind paying up for the 24/25 year old former number 1 pick coming of an AA year.

already got Billings as my underpriced premo. Williams and Crouch also in this category but both are severely discounted. Witherden i worked out was only 15k discounted.

I meant in your team. Witherden is nowhere to be seen hahaha

I also have Witherden. Could go to the next level, 95 is definitely foreseeable.

I know, i dropped him for the reasons i mentioned.

15k under priced and I dont want to bank on him going to the next level. Id rather punt on Roberton at 150k less.

Love the write up Holz  "almost" "injured premo" "kinda"
got to listen to yourself even you are not convinced of you logic.     Mind you I agree on the players you are talking about the issue there is definite doubt on their ability to perform above price.  Strong possibilities they may and just as likely they may not.  Do you want to take three mid pricers in to a GNR team.

I have roberton, moore, and gresham in this category myself.   Roberton I am confident he can score at 90-95 issue is will he get injured(concussion again).  Moore is good value with Upside that can be points and stepping stone above a rookie and great dpp link.  Gresham is my breakout pick for this season based on age, games and finish to last season and expectation of more mid/onball time.

All the best for the season Holz

Thanks crowls

Billings williams crouch roberton all with question marks.

Thing is i think i can find question marks on most other premos and rookies to replace.

Crouch my biggest risk as the most unique.

Roberton really is cheap so not much of a risk. Williams realistically should be a keeper, missing the year after being a premo and putting up premo numbers in finals. Really dont think lloyd def rookie matches those two at all.

Billings again a risk and the question is he worth saving 100k from gray. Perhaps not and thats why i have cash in the bank.

Bully

Nice team Holz, just my two cents on Billings, had him last year & he is one of the most infuriating players I've ever selected. Would definitely attempt to find the cash to get him up to Gray/Mundy.

Crouch down to Miles could be the ticket, GC have a lovely draw so he could ton up early which is exactly what you need.

Goldy a good pick & I'm there as well if Preuss gets selected round 1.

bloody billings,  i would have picked him and thrown him through my lounge room window every second week last year.   got a pacemaker and defibrillator, too old for this sort of shower!

Heard good reports on greene

Billings to greene
Quaynor to cheaper defender

And crouch to fyfe. Going in with the insanely stacked mid. Pure GnR with roberton greene as premos coming back from injury
