Robbie Gray with his interrupted preseason has a bad knee right now

Been playing around with things and have come up with this structure:

DEF: Laird, Sicily, Z.williams, Roberton, Collins, Clark (duursma, Hore)

MID: Cripps, Fyfe, Oliver, Neale, Miles, Libba,  Walsh, Hately (Hind, Gibbons, constable)

RUC: Gawn, Grundy (fort)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Menegola, Setterfield, Balta, burgess (Parker, Wilkinson)

Definitely feels like a year to go deeper in defence with plenty of stepping stones/potential keepers, however, i've tried to bolster this with some more top end options

Mids i've really focused on getting some depth. I am extremely bullish on miles, no doubts he'll go 90+, Libba ill be happy with anything around 85, and be a nice stepping stone, who can go 90+.

forward line, taken 3 more proven forwards as somewhat a set and forget. Ideally can use early rounds to asses the forwards - by far the hardest line for me.

appreciate any feedback!!

Don't know if I would start Sicily. He is tipped to swing between back and forward, add in the brain fades and he is probably at his peak price. Seems like you could get him at a discount later in the season if you're keen on him.

Midfield looks good. You look to be batting pretty deep with Libba at M6 and two rookies on the field. Mid rookies have looked to be in abundance through JLT so I'd probably look to downgrade one of the two to a rookie to keep the cash flow coming. You're maybe looking at a 20 point loss at worst starting Constable on field, the cash generation from the bench rookie should be solid and you can use the 150k on another position.

I have the same 3 forward premos. Not sure if you can really start Balta and Burgess on field in the forward line. It feels like one hasn't got great job security and the other will have some poor scores on field. I think I would look to use the cash from downgrading one of Libba/Miles and maybe Sicily to turn Wilkinson into the BPA.

Team is looking really good though.

DEF: Be cautious of Sicily, see how he looks after the 2nd JLT match. If its a true and he is used as a swingman, his scoring will be hurt. Simpson or Whitfield would be safer bets. Otherwise, looks good.

MID: Solid, though keep an eye on Miles this week. It's going be hard for players to score well at GC, and Miles doesn't look like he's going to be the 90-100 av player we wanted.

RUC: Solid.

FWD: Good premos, but it is risky going 3 rookies on field. Setterfield is a lock, but I'm not sure about Balta, only had one good JLT match....

Overall: Not bad at all, looking good. Just keep an eye on a couple players this week and perhaps look at downgrading Miles and upgrading one of the forward rookies.

Thanks Mate!

Clarko said in his press conference Sicily will be playing the exact same role as last year, Kinda glad they're swinging him up fwd just for JLT as it might keep his ownership down  ;) but will be watching him closely!

as for miles, had about 20 CBA in like 60mins game time, to go with more than a point a minute. Once hes playing full minutes ie this weekend i think we can really see him score 90+!

Will play around with rookies as you said! Ta!

While I do agree that he did well in the limited TOG he had, be mindful that there is only a maximum of 3300 points per game given out to 44 players. If GC are going to get beaten each week as we expect, we can then expect that the distribution of those points will not be in any GC players favour unless they are Tom Mitchell 2.0.

Did you notice that even though GC won, that not a single GC player scored over 100? I imagine it'll be a similar sight throughout the season. That's why I don't see value in Miles, but that's my opinion. Go with your instincts!

DEF: Whitfield, Z.williams, Smith,  Roberton, Collins, Clark (duursma, Hore)

MID: Cripps, Oliver, Neale, M.Crouch, B.Crouch, Libba,  Walsh, Butters (Atkins, Gibbons, constable)

RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Bines)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Boak, Setterfield, Balta, Drew (Parker, Petreccelle)

cash: 182k

Really liking this structure now, with plenty of cash still to play around with.

DEF: Whitfield a lock for me, see him going top 6, and williams another lock as i see him underpriced and should hit around 90-95 and be a keeper. Crouch in for value will use as a stepping stone unless he proves otherwise, if he is a flop atleast im not alone. Rookies mostly set, and robbo will be a wait and see for round one.

MID: Enjoying the depth of libba at m6. Oliver and Cripps are locks from day one. Neale i am playing around with but i love consistency and thats what i think him and M. Crouch can provide. B.Crouch is an interesting one. Feels to me the safest of the mid pricers to average close to 100 just depends if he can stay on the park, but he is picked as a keeper.

Rucks: Set and forget, easy to downgrade if ones a flop

FWD: By far my hardest line to settle on past danger and Heeney. Finally landed on Boak who if he goes back to the middle as i think he will should hit 95 average and be a safe keeper year round. I do feel a little vulnerable with 3 rookies on the field, but cash in hand could see D.Moore come in.

Had the same dilemma as you, and also settled on Boak.
Reckon he is pretty well priced for the potential of a 95 average as you said.

Money Shot

Very similar team so can’t reallt fault it. Good job mate.

crowls

on settled on boak at f3 and greene f4 over the weekend.    looks like a few ff coaches mat go this way.
having another solid look at moore to replace robbo as well.
