Final team in the end but with Sloane captain
8)

After seeing the Grundy/Gawn scores it felt like the right move. Glad he has delivered

Mat0369

Rucks appear to be a problem. The top tier guys have all been averaging 80 which is painful for the cash that has been outlayed. I currently have Mummy and Pierce as my two rucks (R2 and R3) and I'm trying to figure out what Mummy will be priced at if he averages 80 until the byes. The Tooserious calc had him sitting at about just under 400k which means he makes about 80k.

I could go Mummy down to Alabakis for the Saints (nets me about 220k). Come R3 I can make the following 2 moves, Scrimshaw>Duursma and Gibbons>Sheed as corrective trades....

Mat0369

Ended up turning Mummy into Alabaskis. Scored 2179 and my team is as below

Hurn, Shaw, Smith, Ridley, Collins, Clark (Srimshaw, Hore)
Macrae, Fyfe, Oliver, Sloane, Rocky, Cousins, Walsh, Constable (Butters, Gibbons, Scott)
Gawn, Pierce (Alabaskis)
Danger, Heeney, Menegola, Boak, Drew, Setters (Parker, Balta)

I'm ok with most of my team but I may have a list of worries. Ridley scores 70ish which I'll take first up in that demolition job. Looked clean with the ball and should pump out some decent scores. Oliver and Gawn were the two premiums that really gave me a hit this week.

Cousins and Walsh butchered the pill but I liked what I saw.

Swans were playing Heeney wayyyy too deep in the forward line. Looks like they realised late it wasn't working and got him around the play since he was their most dynamic player.

Pierce, Collins, Scrimshaw, Hore and Balta the worries. Collins looks completely hopeless. They may play him every week but he looks no good. Scrimshaw struggled to get involved for the Hawks, Hore is probably that slow burn D8 which I can live with, not confident he really sticks around though. Balta is not of AFL standard right now and Pierce has no interest in going for the ball other than a hit out. He could also be replaced really quickly by Rowan Marshall.

Thinking I make the Collins>Duursma trade this week and hold my other two for the other 4 potential headaches.

Mat0369

Well this turned crap quickly. Ridley dropped, Hore dropped, Balta dropped, Pierce dropped, Scrimshaw hanging on, Cousins on an extended bench with Tom Scully, Collins suffering concussion and an absolute spud.

I need to trade Pierce and one of Hore/Ridley this week. Zero choice since I face a potential double donut if Collins is a late out and I make 0 trades.

I'm going to play around with my options and come back for some advice.

Good luck mate, Pierce is a rough one to lose :(

Got 278k in the kitty so may have set myself up alright with this one.

Mat0369

So Duursma in is the lock. Here are the options I have and I'm looking towards next week to clean up the other hacks.

Option 1

Ridley>Duursma
Pierce>Phillips

Leaves me 337k in the bank. It means I can use the cash to upgrade Collins>Moore next week and Hore>Newman

Option 2

Ridley>Duursma
Pierce>Any ruck I don't own

I'm still not sold on the big bucks rucks. I wish Pierce made it an extra week and I could have gone him to Mummy. Goldy/Hoff/Stef/Rhys Stanley are the 3 I would consider

Option 3

Hore>Duursma
Pierce>Phillips

Leaves me enough cash to go Ridley>Moore and Cousins>Sheed next week

Option 4

Hore>Duursma
Pierce>Any ruck Rhys Stanley or cheaper

I'm honestly leaning towards keeping Ridley since I think he has the greatest scoring potential of the guys I'm trading out. Essendon match selection must be getting the gear from Bomber because it felt questionable on how bad they were last week.

PICCOLLO

Well that escalated quickly!

Ridley will get more chances to play than Hore, etc but he's still a fringe player

Hore to Duursma

Yup, still have to make a ruck trade though. Phillips may not be as viable as I thought. Bolton said that Phillips and Marchbank will likely play next week. We can't play both at the same time so any Phillips options are out.

I guess you gotta get Stanley but gee not a fan. Is ala a R/F? I'd almost be inclined to sideways one of your premo fwds to westhoff and use him in thew rucks while needed

Mat0369

I'm leaning towards still dumping Collins. I'm going to keep an eye on what happens tonight and make the move. I think I have to grab Hoff. If Ridley is a late in I dump Collins easily

Fair call.

Ridley is very fringe IMO while Collins has good JS but zero scoring potential at present.

You don't have Darcy Moore?  Get him next week for Collins and hold out with just the Westhoff trade this week?

Mat0369

Need to make the downgrade to get the cash for Hoff. Duursma is one I like and was planning Collins to him anyway of Ridley played. I can make the trade and still afford Moore next week as well. Pretty happy with that in the end
