Think Libba would become a keeper at this stage and a serviceable M8. I’m glad I started him. So good trade as frees up plenty of $$$ for Lloyd trade as you said. Just hope Lloyd doesn’t go big again vs Dees and Tigers (even though he probably will) so wishful thinking  :-X

So a pretty good week all up, could have been better if Cripps didn't go nuts but that's the how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Trades solid, Libba & Marshall doing the job. Will use this week to grab Boak & Rotham which leaves only one forward rookie left on field. Think it's a must to get all the forward spuds off the field, will see what I can do with Constable next week.

So just projecting to next week & beyond, there's quite a few possibilities to consider. Here's what I've come up with -

Constable to Ross, Parker to Tim Kelly, a lot has to go right for me to do this in 2 trades, Parker needs another 80, Kelly needs another stinker. Otherwise I may have to wait a week & perhaps consider a double downgrade using Atkins.

Constable to Ross, Parker to Greene, will watch Greene & take note of his BE, if he knocks out a ton it could be a great opportunity to make some quick coin. If he bombs then can wait a a few weeks. Think it's imperative to seal F6 as quickly as possible.

Constable to Ross, Parker to Buddy, Buddy now has the potential to dip below 450k, the only problem is Richmond don't have Rance so I'm kind of expecting a Buddy massacre. Grimes playing well though, another stellar effort like last week & I could get my wish.

Constable to Ross, Walsh to Lloyd via Duursma DPP, probably fall short unless Lloyd throws up an 80. Walsh also still has some petrol left in the tank so chances are I hold for a week.

Constable to Ross, Walsh to Fyfe, this is definitely the power play & is entirely doable. I suppose if Fyfe rips out a big score it might be the ticket but it does leave my other lines very exposed. On the other hand it gets another uber premo into the side on the cheap so the money lost on Walsh should be made up when Fyfe's price rebounds.

Bully

So with the recent developments here's how I'll be going - Setterfield to O'Brien, Parker to Tim Kelly.

Now this does expose my forward line bench but I'll be looking at ways to fix that asap. Shai Bolton is on the bubble next week & could be a good pick, if not then I'll see if I can last 3 weeks & then trade O'Brien to Hoff, effectively covering two lines.

Bully

So heading into round 6 things are looking good & have crept up to about 2000 in the rankings, the Kelly inclusion really made a telling difference & happy he nearly hit his BE. This week I'll being doing Clark to Lockhart & Burgess to Baker, you'll also notice the fact that Moore is back in defence, think that's the way to go from here.

Forecasting to next week, Constable to Hately just about a done deal, that should allow me the cash to get Collins up to Lloyd, mission accomplished on that front.

The following week I'll be looking at Walsh to Fyfe, I'm expecting that to be accomplished with as little as 80k. Reckon we're approaching that time when the bubble bursts with Walsh, can't see him continuing this form indefinitely, trick will be to jump off at the right time. For me, 480k is a phenomenal return, but I don't think he's a keeper, I also expect some will try & extract every last dime & that may entail copping a poor score.

The week from hell!!!

Everything thing that could go wrong did go wrong, gambled on not having a forward emergency & low & behold Marshall gets food poisoning. Took Duursma off the field for Collins & lost another 18 points. Whitfield gets a corkie & now every man & his dog will grab him in two weeks, Macrae in a similar boat. Was very close to pressing the delete team button this week, but will hold firm for now. My ranking has been decimated & after working my way up to 2000 odd, I now find myself battling to stay in the top 10,000. But on the bright side, the rookies are doing their bit & allowing for some timely upgrades, this week Atkins to Hayes, Collins to Laird.

So next week I'll be looking at Gibbons to Answerth & Walsh to Fyfe (provided I don't get sidetracked with injury). This is a move that could potentially reap a 70-80 advantage so it's well worth it from my perspective. Have heard people talking about Walsh breaking all the rookie rules but I'm not buying in, I think we have to be grateful he's made so much cash but he's a kid & even Joel Selwood couldn't scrape in for an 80 average in his debut year.

I don't want to forecast too far ahead but grabbing Lloyd not far off, Moore & Duursma will get the job done. I'm also licking my lips at what O'brien could yeild, straight swap with Hoff edging closer & I reckon Hoff played a top game on the weekend. This would set me up nicely for the byes too.

So presuming everything goes to plan & I get Fyfe & Lloyd over the next couple of weeks then it really comes down to hunting bargains, Neale would be great but no way I pay 650k for him, Boak a must but he too is on the expensive side. I might just have to grab a fallen premo for M8, will just have to wait & see.

Was a week from hell for a lot of us aha

How many trades left Bully? Team looks to be coming along nicely. Picked up Laird in DT last week, now is definitely the time to get him if you can.

This would be my one advantage GL, still have 22 trades in the bank & will be down to 18 once I bring in Fyfe & Lloyd. That leaves plenty of room to go super hard over the bye period, by that I mean trading Williams/Smith after they play their first 2 games. This year is certainly shaping up as a cookie cutter year, going to take some left field trades to gain advantage. Could well be that those who exploit the loopholes will be the ones to prosper.

Bully

Not a bad week all considered, made up some marginal ground but still not entirely happy with my overall rank which is hovering around the 5000 mark. This week I'll be making the mother of all upgrades, Duursma to Answerth & Gibbons to Fyfe. On paper it doesn't get much better than that so very pleased with how the cards have fallen.

Next week I'll be looking to move Walsh to either Lloyd/Bont/Kelly, will base the decision on BE's but at this stage Lloyd is the player I most keen on. That will entail getting Moore back to the forward line & Drew to the mids. The following week O'Brien will be around the 430k mark which is ripe for the picking so I'll be weighing up the best option from the group above.

Now I'm guessing everyone is wondering who I'm going to downgrade to, well there's a bloke by the name of Ned McHenry who I'm mad keen on & I reckon there's a good chance he gets a game over the next fortnight. As a junior watcher I have been mighty impressed by his tackling ferocity, think he averaged a whopping 9 tackles during the state carnival which will be gold in Supercoach terms. Atkins to McHenry is the play I'm holding out for, it will also enable me to swing Drew around which will help immensely over the bye period.

And one final word on the players I'll be trying to hold during the upgrade season, Darcy Moore will just about be my final upgrade and that's if I punt him at all. Think his value as a swingman & future bench coverage is far too valuable & I suspect he'll only get better from here. Drew is another player I'd like to keep, particularly with Wines out again there's some chance he can edge towards 400k.

Bully

Boy has this season gone quick, can't believe we're almost at the halfway mark, currently sitting around the 1800 mark so not a terrible situation although things could have been a whole better if not for some untimely injuries. In any case it's all about the byes now so time to get some heavy planning underway.

This week's trades look pretty stock standard, O'Brien to Young, Drew to Lloyd. Very relieved I finally got my opportunity to stitch up Lloyd, a 50k discount on his starting price is a huge win considering he's averaging 115 & has only missed the ton once this year. Now that's been dealt with it's time to focus on the byes.

I think next week has to be a double down situation, there's simply no guarantees we'll get anything like the variety coming up so best to strike whilst the iron is hot. I think Lockhart to Hinge/Garner is a near certainty & I'll be keeping close tabs on Atley who might have to come in for Scott. Rowbottom had a stinker & faces the axe unfortunately, my bad on this call but Stocker didn't look great either so both probably struggle to make much cash from here. I still don't regret making the trade as I now have Kelly locked in, he's already made 20k so if he puts on another 20-30k then it hasn't all been in vain. I suppose Rowbottom can be my midfield loop, particularly if I decide to trade Bines to Fort, we'll just have to wait & see if Fort can back up his very impressive ton.

So with the team approaching completion the 4 players I'll be targeting are Boak, Mundy, Neale & Hurn. Seems I'll need close to a million to get these over the line but I'd be open to making some 100k downgrades to ensure I get my team finished by round 14. The plan from here will be to build up the coffers next week, then when Moore has his bye bring in Boak. That leaves 2 trades to try and get Mundy in the team. Quite a few possibilities, Balta's form has been particularly timely so I'm confident I'll have the cash.

Now for the tricky part, how do I get the cash for both Neale & Hurn? Not so sure as yet but trading one of the Crouch brothers might be on the cards. Hore to Hurn will cost 200k so I may just be able to squeeze something out of some of these bench rookies. In saying all that I bet there's carnage on the injury front so might need to temper expectations a little.

So here we are, at the half way mark with the byes upon us. As for my own situation, I'm reasonably positive with the way things have turned out, currently ranked 1700 odd which puts me within reach of a top 1000 ranking for 2019, that I think is the most realistic goal from here.

This week shouldn't be too bad, it should prove to be my best bye round so with any luck I can can edge up a few hundred places. Will most likely offload Balta to free up some much needed cash & then launch a full scale assault next week. Here's a rough guide on how I plan to tackle things.

Round 13.

Moore to Boak (120k)

This has been in the makings for several weeks now & would have been done already if not for some Crouch hip flexor trouble. Boak probably settles in at 105 from this point but with his durability & role certainty it becomes my top priority. It also puts an extra body on the field which is sorely needed.

Hore to Sicily (70-90k)

Assuming Hore is back next week he'll hit 420k with another 80, that would be perfect for a neat upgrade & extra reinforcement for the dreaded round 13.

Scott to Clarke (+25k)

Ok so 25k is a very lame return but at least my mid bench suddenly starts to look a bit more robust. I also get my 18th man onfield presuming Relton Young gets another game.

Round 14.

B.Crouch to Bontempelli (20k)

Based on projections this is how much it will cost, pretty cheap & absolutely vindicates the initial selection of Crouch. I would even consider holding Crouch if he knocks out another ton but can't see too much wrong with this trade however the cards fall.

Baker to Gray (20-30k)

I want to see one more performance from Gray before committing but all the signs are pointing to a Robbie Gray renaissance. With cash on the lean side this presents as a stop gap until I can get Lockhart up to someone meaningful. In due course Gray would be pushed back to F7 with hopefully Mundy/Dunkley/Daniel filling F6.

Areas for concern

Just as an extension of the comments above, I think I need to build some depth on the forward bench, that will be my priority before I consider upgrading Libba or Brodie Smith. Gardner will eventually find himself at D8 & Lockhart up to a decent forward. Just how I find the cash is anyone's guess but I think the team is solid enough to ride out a few more weeks with the current personnel.

Bully

Been awhile since I've updated so here's an up to the minute report of where things stand, have crept up to 1070 which is where I had in mind prior to the bye period. Basically wanted to halve my ranking from 1700 which means I need to hit 850 by the end of the week, still very achievable & will only have to field two rookies this week, Bewley & Clarke.

So this week's trades will be BCrouch to Dunkley, Libba to Sloane & Relton Young to Hayden. As you can see I'm in the final throws of team completion so I'm happy enough to trade in Hayden for a small profit, having the extra reinforcement should prove very handy if a couple of forwards go down. At this stage I'll be struggling to make much cash on the bench so can't see too many trades over the next few weeks.

So the million dollar question, how many trades left & how do I feel about my team? Well I've only got 5 trades left & still need to get Baker up to Bont, so presuming that occurs I'll be down to 3 with both Hore & Smith onfield. That's a slight concern but 'hopefully' I can get Hore up to a decent player in 1 trade. That would leave 2 injury trades which is cutting things fine, it also leaves Brodie Smith at D6 but I suppose things could be worse.

Still a long way to go so I reckon I'll need plenty of good fortune from here but top 1000 still the aim.

Hore should hit 450k so is more likely to get me a decent player. If Smith turns things around I'm very open to trading but he's caught in a bit of a rut now that Luke Brown is taking the kick outs. Would love to get rid of both to be honest but 5 trades won't be enough.

Bully

After careful consideration think I might just do Baker to Hoff this week, probably last time they will have parity so it's now or never. Trades getting too low to risk a ruck going down.

Hoff has been dropped. You are way to low on trades, need to sit for about the next 5 weeks.
