First try at this for 2019...

Positions I'm debating atm:
D2 - Have Ryan atm, but could be someone like Witherden, Whitfield, Lloyd, Simmo, etc depending on cash available, byes, and all that

D4 - Roberton may become a premo/rookie depending on pre-season and what other rookies pop their head up over the next month or two

M3/4 - Crippa and Kelly I currently have locked, but the other 2 positions I'm not as sure. Oliver, Zerrett, MCrouch, Neale, Treloar, Macrae, Dusty all on the radar to name a few

M5 - Not a huge fan of Libba at M5 at this point. Miles the other mid-pricer I'd be considering. If cvash allows, will try to upgrade to one of the other mids mentioned at M3/4

F3 - Wingard should hopefully see some decent mid time with TMitch injured...also I couldn't afford anyone else. Wouldn't mind one of Dev/Buddy there instead

F4 - See how Greene goes in the pre-season, otherwise may go down to Rankine and use the cash elsewhere

Rookies obviously just placeholders for now until we have a better idea after the JLT or whatever they call it these days, but tried to go for a few who I think will play R1, particularly the guys I have on the field.

Lemme know your thoughts, cheers in advance you super fantasy football doods

Fid

I like your side and your analysis...

I have never been a fan of Libba, although his price is tempting.

Even though I don't have Miles in my side atm, I do prefer him over Libba and maybe the expense of  B Smith

Money Shot

Pretty solid side this early in the season as you would expect GoLions.

I love the Ryan, Sloane, Libba and Wingard picks.

Needs more Brisbane players though ;)

Ringo

Prefer Miles over Libba myself but watch the JLT.

Definitely needs Neale or Withergoat  :D

Nice structure and sit for JLT.

Cheers mate. Yeah if i can find a bit more cash then would probably go up to Miles.

Haha, yeah we'll see. Originally had WitherGOAT over Ryan. Considering Neale and Zorko in the mids, will have to assess bye situation and see what works best.

Haha cheers Ringo. As mentioned above, would go Miles if i have the spare cash, and both those Lions boys under consideration  :p

Drop Bailey Smith for a cheaper rookie and that will allow you to turn Libba into Miles. Smith has had an interrupted summer and I would think he's next to no chance of lining up Round 1

Sloane is tempting me too, and now that he's fit and co-captain I'm pretty keen, but he's such a damn rollercoaster, and even with 6 years of 105+ averaging he basically puts up a stinker every 3 weeks on average and that's what hurts, but I guess you have to take the bad with the good because he's big weeks are massive

Yeah if enough mid rookies get up, then that's the plan. Smith currently there as that 'expensive rookie', as it's always easier to downgrade the expensive rookies to give yourself a bit more cash as opposed to finding extra to bring the higher priced ones in.

Sloane I'm still not sold on...see how rest of pre-season goes.

Had a bit of a tinker...

Slightly worried about the forward line, but will make a call on what structure I want to go with when we have a better idea about rookies available. If Greene is ready to go Round 1, then I'll probably drop Ryan to a def rookie and upgrade a fwd rookie to Greene. Could also just switch Burgess into defence.

Nige

Nice team friend, but it needs more Brions.

Ringo

Was going to say same needs more Lions as well. Nice team though.  Would be tempted to downgrade Williams over Ryan to get Greene but your decision. Just think that with Blakelys injury Ryan has more upside.

Very good chance that happens before R1 heh

I feel like Williams represents more value at less of a risk, so he's probably my biggest lock of any defender this season right now. But Ryan probably top 5 of defenders I'm keen on starting with, so could find his way into my starting side again!

GoLions

Have made a couple changes again, gone back to my original structure, just a change in players.

Very tempted to go Fyfe down to someone like Zorko, Walsh down to a 123k-ish rookie, and then Greene up to someone like Gray. Whilst Fyfe could easily be the #1 scorer, he also represents that injury risk, whilst Zorko is tremendous value and could easily hit 110+ again this year (as he did after R7ish last year). Walsh to a cheaper rookie is dependent on enough cheap rookies with good JS and scoring potential being named round 1. And turning Greene into Gray gives me an extra premo with much less risk.
