Shocker early last year, and was in Europe for back half of the home and away season. Reinvigorated now, ready for even the slightest 2019 success!

Defence: J.Lloyd, R.Laird, L.Whitfield, Z.Williams, S.Collins, J.Maibaum (J.McLennan, H.Wigg)
Midfield: J.Macrae, P.Cripps, L.Neale, R.Sloane, T.Adams, L.Stocker, J.Atley, H.Brayshaw (A.Ross, N.Hind, J.Rowbottom)
Ruck: B.Grundy, M.Gawn (B.Schlensog)
Forward: P.Dangerfield, R.Gray, D.Kent, W.Setterfield, C.Ballenden, C.Burgess (C.McFadyn, B.Cavarra)

Salary: 8k

First go, so love to hear what you all think!

Team is looking nice.

Not too sure on Dean Kent though, he hasn't played over 10 games in the last two seasons.
In 2016 when he played 20 games he only averaged 70.
Would much prefer to see a Heeney or a D.Smith.

Agree, monitoring Kent's preseason at the moment. If he makes it through preseason unscathed and does indeed get the midfield role he's seeking theres enough evidence to suggest that he can be between 75-85ppg. Saying that i'm uncomfortable having him in there as i've avoided injury prone players for the most part of my team.
One way I've made not having him work was Macrae out for Heeney/Smith (Danger to mid) and upgrade Kent to Wingard.

I do like Wingard as a POD, but Danger definitely should stay FWD.

Potentially:
Sloane --> Miles
Kent --> Wingard

Money Shot

Adams to Libba
Kent to whoever

I agree that Kent is too big a risk for not much reward at this stage.

Adams could be a nice pod but there is a lot of risk with Trealor coming back from injury and Beams as well.

Wouldn't touch Kent, not guaranteed best 22 and awkward price. Sloane and Adams could be good PoDs, don't mind them. Not sure on Gawn at this stage myself. Like the extra defender prem at the expense of a forward, think the defenders are more solid this year.

Cheers for the feedback, couple of changes in light of! Probably will stick with gut feeling on Adams until I don't feel good about him anymore

Gawn --> Goldy (Was reluctant to do so though - needed cash for bottom change)
Whitfield --> Andrews (Only premium I was happy to downgrade)
Kent --> Wingard (Enabled by trades above)

Defence: J.Lloyd, R.Laird, H.Andrews, Z.Williams, S.Collins, J.Maibaum (J.McLennan, H.Wigg)

Forward: P.Dangerfield, R.Gray, C.Wingard, W.Setterfield, C.Ballenden, C.Burgess (C.McFadyn, B.Cavarra)

Salary: 6k

Money Shot

Team is looking much better with some nice pods throughout.

Bit of a Re-Shuffle

DEFENCE
J. Lloyd, R. Laird, L. Whitfield, S. Collins, J. Clark, C. Burgess (J. McLennan, M. Hore)
MIDFIELD
J. Macrae, P. Cripps, L. Neale, R. Sloane, T. Adams, W. Setterfield, N. Hind, M. Gibbons (C. Constable, B. Bewley, L. Valente)
RUCK
B. Grundy, M. Gawn (D. Fort)
FORWARDS
P. Dangerfield, I. Heeney, J. Dunkley, W. Drew, T. Stengle, B. Cavarra (J. Petruccelle, M. Parker)

Salary - 24k

Obvious G + R approach, few value options but mostly proven guys I don’t see dropping off much. Stayed away from interrupted preseasons (Fyfe, Kelly, Oliver and a few others). Likely to sit on this until JLT but happy to be convinced otherwise!

fasttrack13

Waited until this week to do another team, Rookie announcements and all...

Please let me know what you all think!

2.2k remaining

My Thoughts:

Defence -
At this stage only one of the 500k guys i trust to reproduce is Lloyd, obviously can't afford him. Want to wait on Laird, Simmo and Whitfield. Andrews before concussion was on track to be at least a top 10 defender last year, Williams likely a keeper. Ridley first full pre season and dons didn't want to risk him late last year giving him monitored time in VFL to move through lingering issues. Think this line has the strongest rookies this year hence why i'm happy to field 3 of them.

Midfield -
Where i've used bulk of my cash. Feel, like most, that Macrae, Cripps, Oliver and Fyfe are the elite of the elite. Couldn't ignore Crouch 2017 average as well as proper preseason. Libba, for me, is a must have... don't see him dropping below 90. Only 2 rookies on field here, as i feel the rest of them are overrated slightly in their scoring ability.

Ruck -
Um'ing and Ah'ing over this... Until Preuss went down.

Forward -
F1&2 should be in 100% of teams. Dunkley after bevo's statement of 70/30 made him a pretty easy selection not to mention his accommodating bye. Moore is a bargain at 230k, intercept beast at TAC cup level and expecting that to translate to AFL... His swing with Burgess will allow me a lot of flexibility depending on which end the stronger scorers are at.

Very strong mids and rucks, but I feel you've overspent to the detriment of the other 2 lines especially defence. You've got 7 players over 600k which throws the balance out a bit.
I don't agree that that's the strongest line for rookies. It's better than fwds, but not by much. Scrimshaw would have shaky JS given Clarkos record with rookies. Burgess will be a very poor scorer. Ridley is tempting but will be in danger of losing his spot to Gleeson.
I'm all for saving money in defence this year, and think that Lloyd Laird, Simo and Sicily will be cheaper later and unlikely to all back up last year's efforts. So I agree with your thinking, but I'd try and get a better D3, maybe even B. Smith who will have much better JS than Ridley. Ridley at D5 much safer.
Moore at F4 is also risky.
I'd personally try to look for more value picks in mids and/or drop Libba or a premo to a rookie to strengthen D3/4 and F4

Fair enough so if i did something like:

Oliver --> Gibbons
Scrimshaw --> Lloyd
