My mids as it stands are -

Macrae, Cripps, Oliver, Fyfe, Neale, B.Crouch, Walsh, Butters

I am super happy with that setup, it will score me lots of delicious points.  8)

im running a similar mid set up and my defenders are going to likely be dropping 100s or 55s.

Macrae is this years Mitchell and the king of the midfield.

Provides a great captain option each week.

Oh well I'll be enjoying his 140 + scores x 2 as captain as I missed out on him totally last year.

Not making the same mistake again, same with not starting Grundy.

I would hate to watch my opponent having Macrae pumping out the 140's

Macrae is a difficult one. You can pair him with a Brouch, or for similar coin get Dusty/Conigs paired up. Neither Macca or Crouch have any sense of security with what will come in 2019. Dusty/Cogs defs feels safer

Nobody wants Macrae because he’s not a big inside mid who racks up a ton of contested ball and takes big marks and puts himself out there, he’s just a pure accumulator both inside and outside who gets touches that you don’t even consider and by the end of the game he has a 130, simple as that. People won’t even care to look at his average from last year (128) which included an injury game, so you’re looking at 130+ and #1 scorer in the game. Funny that if this was Titch he’d be locked into everybody’s side

Also funny that he was nearly 15ppg better than Clarry and Fyfe who both had good years, nearly 10 points above cripps and would’ve beaten both grundy and Gawn had it not been for injury.

Anyway, not my problem but I’m struggling to see why there’s so many people against him! Moving on

I've had Macrae in and out of my team (currently out), I still think he will be the best Mid this year, but the only slight thing I'm banking on is him possibly being cheaper after a bad early game.  That's the only thing keeping him out of my side, upgrade target.

His price will come down at some point but the question is how much and whether at that point you have got the ability to pounce. The other risk is that you might have to give up too much to get him into your team if he continues last years form.

Does have Hewitt first up, noticed that he didn't get tagged in the first game against Sydney last year either, maybe that was before Hewitt became their full time tagger?
