M Crouch out.  D Martin in.

https://afl.com.au/news/2019-03-16/dusty-reveals-his-struggle-with-anxiety-and-depression

Just throwing it out there, this article would scare me off starting Dusty and just about put a line through him full stop for the year.

I don't know about throwing him aside for the year. I'm tossing up between him and Crouch but imagine he will be in my side at some point. His best is too good to pass up

Pretty much the last decision I need to make for now too. Have swapped between Crouch and Dusty all summer and just can't settle on who to pick. Feel like my gut is slightly swaying in favour of Crouch though

I have Crouch in at the moment but I'm worried I'm gonna have that sinking feeling at about 9pm on Thursday night when Dusty has had 30 and kicked 3 goals haha

I couldn't envisage having my 2019 team without Dusty. From the end of last season till the beginning of March he was in my team.
I couldn't work out a way to fit MCrouch in.... so took Dusty out not really thinking it would last but it has. I feel much happier with Crouch in my team.

Colley Dogs

Gone for Crouch over Dusty, and feel very comfortable about it.

SilverLion

I've also gone MCrouch over Dusty, hopefully Crouch doesn't burn me again like last year...

Colley Dogs

Interestingly.... in my draft league (paid league, experienced players, 4th season)... Dusty went at Pick 4, and M Crouch went at 17.

I was surprised.

B.

Imagine dusty being hungry to do well again, will be back to SuperCoach best! Silly to take him out

If it gets to the point of tossing a coin then you are better off just picking the lowest priced option.

Yeah, I've put Conigs there for now, and if I need the extra 35k by the time teams land I'll drop him to Crouch

Who're your other premium mids, RaisyDaisy?

I'm running with:

Cripps; Fyfe; Coniglio; M Crouch; A Brayshaw

I obviously want 5 who're going to end up being top 8 mids, but I'm also trying to find a little value. Cripps, Fyfe, Coniglio are locks for me. M Crouch I think is a safe pick... if he fails he doesn't fail by much. Brayshaw's my dark horse.

(Dusty I'm avoiding. If you're Hardwick, and you can convince yourself you have the resources to win out the middle, imagine the nightmares you'll create for opposition defenders with Riewoldt, Lynch, Martin. I see super-huge Dusty scores, and meh scores where they've won the game by ht and he goes quiet second half).

I understand the point here, but on the flip side, Dusty is a key cog in that midfield, perhaps he won't play forward as much this year?

With one of Lynch or Riewoldt playing deep, I just can't see him resting there as much.. But that is the million dollar question.

I don't think he will play forward as much this year but he may initially, Lynch 50/50 to play round 1 and Caddy won't be available for a few weeks so Dusty may spend more time forward in the first few rounds

Last year I started with Dusty, and in spite of it not working out I feel it was a strong pick... most of us went with him, following his Brownlow and our belief Richmond wasn't a one-hit wonder. The thinking was sound; the merits were obvious: we'd succeed together, or fail together.

This season is different...I have a half-dozen options I'm picking before Dusty for three places in my team.... Macrae; Cripps; Oliver; Coniglio; and.... M. Crouch (staying away from J Kelly because he hasn't featured in JLT).

Dusty, therefore, isn't a choice between him and M Crouch (because of their similar pricing), but a choice between him and someone else for F5 in my team... I'm going for A. Brayshaw!

If I'm taking Dusty M1-M3 it's on the belief he's returning to the top echelons of Supercoach, and in real-footy terms.... but I have a few others before him... therefore... I go with the next-generation player: A. BRAYSHAW :)

(Dusty, I think, is wishful thinking... because of his price. He's only done it once.)

:o

Lol, tad harsh Bro. Don't think Dusty is a bad pick, by any stretch. Not very many of them back up 120 odd seasons.
