Toying around with every scenario like we do, I actually don't think this is as crazy at it may appear

I was looking at the guys who are still within their peak age, and have a proven history of being able to go 105-110+ but are just cheaper than the top priced guys this year for one reason or another

Dusty, Crouch, Zerrett, Sloane, Zorko

Starting 4 of those guys, plus Miles at M5

Sloane is a rollercoaster for sure, but he can easily average enough to be good enough for M8 at worst, and to my surprise Zorko actually averaged 115 from Round 7 - 20 last year. It was just his first 6 weeks that he struggled, but he could easily bounce back to 105-110 too

Might look odd with no Macrae, Cripps, Fyfe, Oliver or Kelly there, but the money saved has bolstered other lines

Not saying I will do this for sure, but I think it's an option

Plenty of ways to go this year I think compared to other years I've had about 5 teams that are quite a bit different except for rucks that I would be comfortable starting with but still think you need at least 1 or 2 premos in the mids

I like it, but the only drawback IMO is you potentially lose a safe captaincy option like a Cripps or Fyfe, but shouldn't be a problem if you are running Grundy/Gawn and have Danger

Yep, have all of Grundy, Gawn, Danger and Lloyd as other captain options

Could even change it to have 1 600k+ guy like Cripps, then the rest of the guys I said.

Hey RD, am I silly to have Neale and Zorko, bearing in mind your comment on Zorko that I had already researched in getting Moore into my backline?

Why would it be silly to have the best 2 mids in the comp?

Zorks has big upside, was massive last season from round 7 onward. From all reports he is thriving with the added leadership and it in the best shape of his career. You'll get the odd mare from Zorks but he makes up for it with his 150+!

Neale will be a much safer 110 though imo, can't go wrong

The only concern having both is their bye. They share the brutal bye week with so many other top players.

Not an issue as have 7 premiums playing in R13. Will put in my latest team as Zorko such good value for what he can score and what he will do

kilbluff1985

is nobody worried about Oliver's limited preseason?

Yeah I am you see players who have major shoulder surgery be a bit tentative at first but Oliver is a bit of a freak had him in my team for a long time but replaced a little while back , he is not cheap so upgrade option for me.

Still in rehab group so i've replaced him with Fyfe

kilbluff1985

yeah not sure on my 3rd/4th mid spots rn got Cripps/Fyfe/Neale/Bont then Miles

not that sold on Neale/Bont but prefer that they don't have an injury history compared to others

Bones Bombers

I still have Clarry in my mids because I’m a big fan of his SC production for me the last couple years. Will obviously have to reassess closer to round 1.
Didn’t Heeney have some doubt coming into Rd1 last year due to shoulder surgery? Or it may have been something else. I changed him out for Billings before Rd1. Gee that went well. Smh.

Not interested in Oliver...took him out about a month ago. There's other options.
