You could always risk it and go Fort at R2 with Lobb/Hoff at F4 and a loophole option at R3 if you're worried about ruck coverage.

Gotta admit I'm keen on Fort R2 if he gets up round 1. Risky as, but I wouldn't even consider a Lobb/Hoff in the forwards

Sticking a F/R at R3 gives you plenty of flexibility to upgrade a forward rookie or Fort to a top 2 ruck once it becomes clear who the top two are.

I think if you can make it through the first 7-8 rounds with Fort playing, you're at no disadvantage points wise by playing Fort & extra premo in another line vs premo ruck & FWD or DEF rookie, but you get the advantage of certainty picking a top 2 ruck when upgrade season arrives

R1, Fort has 12 hitouts and 2 handballs and gets dropped, what's your next move

^ this. Way too risky. Him being named round 1 isnt good enough.
Plays Grundy round 1. Could get a bath and be dropped straight away

English R2 Fort R3 if they're both named Round 1?

Actually, could be any of Mummy, English, Naismith or even Briggs

Don't muck around with your rucks, plonk Fort at R3 & set & forget. Can see some argument for Stef & Goldy but remember the rules have changed which will allow Gawn to dominate the sub 200cm guys.

If Preuss is named R1 as well, absolutely.

Nige

The more I think about it, the risk vs reward of gambling on these cheaper rucks just doesn't seem worth it to me.

I think paying up for a set and forget ruck combo where you know they're safe as houses and you know what you're gonna get it is the smart play, especially when there's already uncertainty around other lines as it is.

Kreuzer out Goldy in.

Agreed.

Gawn and Grundy locked. If Preuss lines up round 1 with Gawn and English and Fort are named I would highly consider doing this combo.

If Preuss is named round one I will bring in Goldy.

Can Grundy repeat the dose, or will he be the 2019 Dusty Martin? Grundy 2018 was outta the box freaking unbelieveable, surely opposition coaches won't let him get these midfielder numbers again.
Pretty hard to stop giant midfielder ruckman maybe he won't quite reach this years heights but think he will be clearly the best ruck

He will get bitten by the ‘Cox Curse’, Gawn will be number one ruck come seasons end.

Will be Gawn then Grundy/Goldy for me. Watch on Darcy Fort, apparently is having a very strong preaseason.

Will be interesting if teams try and copy what WC did in the GF and tag him with two rucks. Had his lowest disposal count for the year but he dominated the HO's and HOTA's so his SC was massive.

Either way I'll be starting him :)

Agreed until I looked at my byes. I don't get too fussed about the byes normally but 8 of my 14 'keepers' have the same bye. That is too many. Would be looking at a 100,000+ round rank. My point being Grundy & Gawn have the same bye. Grundy gets the nod due to Gawn having had hamstring & calf problems in the recent past. At the minute I have Grundy/English/Fort.
