Insert Beams as another mid and I guess there is less need for Grundy to do grunt work but it is clearly second nature with him to follow up after a ruck battle. Another year older and refining his craft, plus some fit elite on ballers at his feet, I can easily see both hitouts and HOTA improving. Maybe not 130 but his floor is 110 imo, should get around 120 once again.

Yeah when it comes to rucks I'm really not worried at all if their averages drop from 130 to 110 for example

I just want the two highest scoring rucks and that's why Grundy and Gawn is set and forget for me because I'm sure they will still be the two highest scoring rucks

If they drop in value, I couldn't care less. I'd rather start them and see their value go down as opposed to not starting one of them and never getting them

Goldy and Stef will be solid, and for that reason you won't trade/upgrade them, and every week it will frustrate you just like it did me this year when Goldy was putting up good scores but not having Grundy was killing me

Grundy and Gawn locked, and Goldy would be the only other ruck I'd consider

Im seriously considering Witts at R2 if a viable cash cow doesnt present before Rd 1

Still quite young, perhaps coming into his prime now

With Lynch gone may kick a few more snags (he does impact the scoreboard)

Is a big unit

If he played for anyone but the Gold Coast I'd be considering him too.
Massive hit out numbers, but the midfield around him doesn't help his HOTAs.
Has only kicked 4 goals in 2 years, no doubt partly due to the ball being anywhere near the fwd line.

Hmm..need to make sure I check some facts before going off half baked. Being exposed to the Suns games erry week I totally thought he kicked more than 2 goals last year

With Lynch gone could be an opportunity as they have not got a ready replacement so may see him playing forawrd a bit as well which may help. Only issue as has been said lack of midfield to take advantage.

Although they have Miles this year?

A coach can change things massively for any players output and bring out the best
Dew has had a good look at the team now - the Suns coaching staff is pretty handy IMO

The team is young.....players like Bowes, Brodie, Fiorini, Ainsworth,  Ballard, Miller, Powell, ...these boys can play.

Witts will be winning his fair share of contests .....

Does Mitchell going down make people more likely to start both Rucks? Can save 100k bringing in someone like Neale for Titch which means 100k extra could be used to grab both Grundy and Gawn. I'm still really undecided

Hasn't changed a thing for me. Had Grundy and Gawn locked with Titch in the side too

I tried that but didn't like the look of the rest of my side as a result. Might be able to have bothrucks now though

RaisyDaisy

I said that Grundy and Gawn have been locked for me from day dot, but I did also say Goldy is the only other ruck I'd consider

Well, I'm now looking at my side with Goldy at R2 (Grundy R1) and it does look much better overall

I just checked, and Goldy actually averaged 110 from R9 on-wards last year

Won't make the final call until I've seen JLT, and Preuss in particular, but I'd say R2 is still up for grabs between Gawn and Goldy for me

I just want solid bench cover so I can start Grundy and Kreuzer. Team looks so good with the money saved there but I would need something big to happen like Bellchambers to miss the first half of the season to ensure Clarke is the #1 ruck at Essendon otherwise I just can't trust Kreuzer to not miss at least a couple of games here and there

Other way around that of course is Westhoff at forward.  I currently have Kreuz and Clarke too, but no Westhoff.

I think Fort from the Cats will be given every chance to play round 1 and from what I've heard is already leading that race.
