Think this deserves its own thread, wondering what people are doing.
For me it’s Grundy + 1 of Gawn Goldy and Kreuz, not considering anyone else.

What’s everyone else doing? Rucks will make or break your year this year imo, have to nail them.

Grundy and Gawn locked

If Preuss
1. plays JLT
2. and it impacts Gawn

then I'll change to Goldy, but I'm confident Gawn stays my R2

Stef > Goldy tbh

Grundy and Gawn for me at this stage.

Think you are seriously underestimating Goldy.

No Preuss and no Daw until he’s deemed fit so the job is his so no question over JS, dropped 5 kegs over preseason and have to remember he averaged what 128 only 3 years ago. Mentally fit again.
I see him going 110+ but see Gawn going 120 and Kreuzer could go 105+

Such a hard decision

If like me you started Goldy last season it's easy to be wary of him. Absolutely stunk it up with scores of 57,76,77,88,77, 69 early on.
For one,Preuss is irrelevant given he didn't play a game this year. And Daw's absence just means someone else will be used for a chop out.
As for mentally fit, there was a big article around this time a year ago how he was over that stuff and feeling better than ever. It's what sucked me into picking him.
His 128 average days are over.
I just feel having a Goldy/Martin type means you're stuck with them, as when they're averaging 100 you're always fixing and trading in more urgent areas. Meanwhile the Gawn or Grundy u don't have is going 115+ This is exactly what happened to me and I missed out on Grundy.

Money Shot

Grundy and Gawn for me.

If Darcy Fort lines up round 1 I would strongly consider starting him at R2

@ubeaut

Yet you failed to register his scores from then on of
112, 102, 123, 112, 132, 111, 133, 123, 102, 105, 61, 113, 95, 125

12 tons at an average of 111.5

Bet you weren’t mad then. I honestly think Goldy is 110+ bound and if Preuss is a factor for Gawn then the extra 150k is super handy.

Options for me are Grundy and...

Goldy
Gawn
Kreuzer/Westhoff combo

This is the problem of Stef, Goldy that we lived with every week last year while watching those with Grundy and Gawn kick sand in our faces every week.     On the other hand, history shows it is VERY UNUSUAL for two top rucks to repeat.   GAWN is the one most likely to have issues either with injury or PRUESS impacting.   Very difficult to tie so much cash up with Grundy and GAWN.     My plan is Krueser and pray for 10weeks of health then trade up to Gawn.    If Fort starts for Geelong he will also be starting for Bombers Rule.

Ringo

At the moment Grundy and Stef. Watch on Kreuzer and Goldy n JLT. Gone Stef because of durability only missed 4 games in the last 4 seasons. He is off contract this year so will want to enhance his value if he is to return to Victoria.

A starting rookie r3 will be helpful as well.

frenzy

Can Grundy repeat the dose, or will he be the 2019 Dusty Martin? Grundy 2018 was outta the box freaking unbelieveable, surely opposition coaches won't let him get these midfielder numbers again.

Not sure what opposition coaches are going to do to stop Grundy getting the same output this year.  Not like you will have Jacobs tagging him.    If he goes off the boil more likely to be mental demons related to issues outside of footy and I have no idea how Grundy is placed personally with partner, family etc.

Pretty hard to stop giant midfielder ruckman maybe he won't quite reach this years heights but think he will be clearly the best ruck
