Ringo

Like it pending teams and like me for a couple of weeks can loop Corbett and Young but not the best.

Looking good mate! How many trades do you plan on leaving? I’m wondering whether to go hard and get more expensive options, or go a bit cheaper and leave a couple of more trades...

Current plan leaves me with only 5 trades, no great bench cover, but a pretty sweet team if all play!

That would leave me with 7.
Happy enough with that but might burn another on a cheap 102/109k mid/ def loophole that I could swing Duursma with in order to cover both lines. Will see how I go with LTIs and those rookies as cover first but it could prove handy.

That’s a good plan. Cover could end up being crucial with carnage usually inevitable.

I could have 7 left if needed, but feel like I need J Kelly instead of Brad Crouch in the final team seems I’m still a shot at the top spot...

Bulldozers is going well. Kelly is a beast and in your position he’s one to get for sure.

Current team
D: Hurn, Lloyd, Williams, Laird, Hore, Duursma (Gardner, Answerth)
M: Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Cunnington, Oliver, MCrouch, Steele (Atkins, Bewley, Scott)
R: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
F: Dangerfield, TKelly, Daniel, Cameron, Marshall, Heeney (Corbett, Young)

Only need to finalise defence now, but considering keeping Duursma as my D6 with trades precious now.
Whitfield was traded out to Cunnington which made sense but has made the plans going forward muddier.

Thinking of bringing in Robbie Gray (cheap, DPP, had bye, sets up fwd link - covers two lines).
Also considering Blakely (cheap, had bye, midfield numbers will see him average 100 from here on)
To do these trades Answerth, Atkins and Hore (all R13 bye players will be traded out)

Team would be
D: Hurn, Lloyd, Williams, Laird, Blakely, Duursma (Gardner, Naish)
M: Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Cunnington, Oliver, MCrouch, Steele (Gray, Bewley, Scott)
R: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
F: Dangerfield, TKelly, Daniel, Cameron, Marshall, Heeney (Corbett, Young)

Steele could be out for 6 weeks. dunkley looks a must have. Getting a 102 F/M DPP to enable flexibility with Gray, Dunkley, Heeney, Danger and TK will likely be handy as trades become low and cover flexibility/cover becomes everything.

D: Hurn, Lloyd, Williams, Laird, Blakely, Duursma (Gardner, Naish)
M: Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Cunnington, Oliver, MCrouch, Dunkley (Gray, Bewley, Scott)
R: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
F: Dangerfield, TKelly, Daniel, Cameron, Marshall, Heeney (102k F/M DPP, Young)

Trades done. Team now...

D: Hurn, Lloyd, Williams, Laird, Blakely, Duursma (Gardner, Naish)
M: Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Cunnington, Oliver, MCrouch, Dunkley (Gray, Bewley, Clarke )
R: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
F: Dangerfield, TKelly, Daniel, Cameron, Marshall, Heeney (Hayden, Young)

Sitting on this till the end now. LTI trades only from here to the finish.
No ruck cover and defence cover looks shaky.

Front half solid! What’s the trade balance? Not enough to upgrade Duurs?

Front half solid :) No trades for Duurs, he's the man now haha.
Will be biting my fingernails each week is the trade balance. Not enough to see me home but with a ranking in the 6k-7k range it's just another year now, nothing ventured and nothing gained. What will be will be.

Fair enough :D

I’m pretty much the same on trades. Nothing ventured for sure! Remember a few years back the winner was out of trades by round 16, so not unprecedented! Good luck mate!

Good point, my best season in SC was the year I ran out with 5 rounds to go, think you have to take risks to get anywhere close to the top.
