SilverLion

Def: Laird, Whitfield, Williams, Birchall, Williamson, Collins (Scrimshaw, Burgess (FWD))
Mid: Mitchell, Oliver, Neale, Miles, Liberatore, Walsh, Hately, Setterfield (FWD) (Stocker, Bewley, Bytel)
Ruc: Grundy, Martin (Sweet (FWD))
Fwd: Dangerfield (MID), Heeney (MID), Dunkley (MID), Greene, Daniher, Rankine (McAdam, Cavarra)

Total: Approx $9,990,000 (Note: Don't have SC Gold currently, all this has been worked out manually so might have errors, if there are will just downgrade Rankine/Williamson to cheaper rookies :P)

Defence: Laird locked from the start for the third year running. Whitfield a lock as will score well regardless of where he plays. Williams too cheap to ignore.

Mids: Titch also locked from the start for the third year running. Oliver incredibly consistent and have brought him in during the season the last 2 years, figured about time I started him. Neale also consistent and hopefully a PoD. Miles and Libba the current mid-pricers, not entirely sold on them yet.

Rucks: Grundy locked for the second time in three years (didn't start him last year though :-[). Will be going with Martin for the second year running, barring a restructure.

Fwds: Danger and Heeney locked as will almost certainly be top 5 forwards. Dunkley should continue to get mid time based on his finish to last year. Greene and Daniher both too cheap to ignore if named round 1.

All rookies + Birchall are placeholders for now.

Good starting point. Solid choice of premos... absence of some Lions in this team though haha.
Dunkley is an interesting one. Could certainly pay off. Miles is the other that grabbed my attention but there's a long way to R1 and I'll be watching him with interest over the pre season.

ubeaut

I think the Laird/Whitfield/Williams combo will be very popular, and with good reason.

Neale and Dunkley are good potential PODs
Dunkley I'm keen on myself, just need to be fairly certain he'll stay mostly in the middle with Libba back.

Solid rucks can Martin keep it up at 32?

Not sold on Viney especially in addition to Libba. I'd swap Daniher for a rookie and upgrade Viney to a premium.
As a Bombers fan I'd love to see Joe do well but unless there is a shortage of fwd rookies I'm steering clear.

SilverLion

Cheers guys. Already had to swap Viney for Miles as I believe my original maths was slightly out haha.

Daniher --> Rookie, Miles --> Prem definitely something I'll consider though.

Got our two most expensive NZ, can't quite squeeze WitherGOAT in at this stage ;)

GoLions

How much is Miles? Having both him and Libba in there seems risky, depends how much cash he has to make though i guess. I don't mind the Dunks pick, could really go the next level next year. Maybe gone a tad heavy up front, I'd prefer Joey down to a rookie and try to bring in Roberton down back, or upgrading Miles/Stef.

342k I believe.

Like Roberton as well, gunna be hard to fit all these mid pricers in. Will be monitoring them all closely and will likely be downgrading some to rookies to upgrade others to prems.

Seeing mixed opinions on Daniher, thought he has great JS and at that price should make as much as a rookie?

Money Shot

I personally think there will be an abudance of cheap forward rookies who will score well and make some cash.

Daniher will be a slow burn in my opinion as he will more than likely put up a fair few sub 70 games.

Corbett, Burgess and Setterfield should all play 22 games and score well enough in my opinion so maybe downgrade Daniher and strengthen other lines.

Thought better look at your team Silver  ;D looks good mate only one I don't like to much is Daniher reckon you will be able to get a rookie for a lot less that will make as much if not more cash then stick the savings to another gun mid , like the Dunkley pick as a bit of a pod very good first up team  ;)

SilverLion

Cheers guys.

Yeah that makes sense re: Daniher. Thought of him as a bit of a stepping stone, but with Greene there also I guess there isn't really a need for both, especially as Greene is much more likely to be a keeper.

v2:

Def: Laird, Whitfield, Williams, Birchall, Collins, Scrimshaw (Burgess (FWD), McLennan)
Mid: Mitchell, Oliver, Neale, Yeo, Liberatore, Walsh, Setterfield (FWD), E Smith (Stocker, Bewley, Bytel)
Ruc: Grundy, Martin (Bines (FWD))
Fwd: Dangerfield (MID), Heeney (MID), Dunkley (MID), Greene, Rankine, McAdam (Cavarra, Corbett)

Williamson --> McLennan
Daniher --> Corbett
Hately --> E Smith
Miles --> Yeo

22k in bank.

Rookies were placeholder anyway, so essentially Daniher and Miles for Rookie + Yeo. Yeo more of a placeholder than locked atm, but in this structure shows that M4 would be a 550k+ prem.

Agree also that starting both Miles and Libba is probably too dangerous, but not sure which one I'll start at this stage.

Sabretooth Tigers

 :)

Very nice SL. Have you given Dusty any consideration ? Started back early, embarrassed himself and would personally think he let the team down in the prelim, and is a very team orientated player. Can see him going absolutely nuclear this season to the extent that 2017 was merely a preview. And budget priced. Cheers and all the best mate.

GoLions

Looks good SL, good team to sit on until we know more about which rookies will line up.

Money Shot

Good team structurely to sit on.

Dunkley and Yeo will both be pretty big pods which I like.

SilverLion

Updated side post Titch injury.

Really wanna fit Miles in instead of Libba, but thats a bit of wait and see I think pending injuries/rookies available.

Keeper27

good looking side.
love the Dunkley pick... he's been in and out of my side.
my only concern is that most teams are going with 5 Premiums in the MID and some have Libba @ M6... but you've compensated with deep FWD's and DEF's

check out my team

Money Shot

Hi Silver Lion,

Unlike my team there are a lot of nice pods. Structurely I like this side with 12 keepers and 3 mid pricers who should all score well and make money. I personally think Libba is a better pick than Miles.
