Looks like Fyfe could miss anywhere from 1-3 weeks.  :-\

Not surprised, was a very nasty knock.

Yeah not surprised at all, wondering if the affects of that could linger a while too?

You'd assume if he doesn't play this week he probably won't make the trip to Sydney the following week..

Coming from someone who has been knocked out 3-4 times I think they can linger, not so obvious but more absent mindedness. I gave away football after being elbowed in the face, lost a tooth & woke up on the field not knowing where the hell I was, almost like waking from a dream.

I got knocked out once playing footy from a inadvertent elbow to the face during a tackle that gave me slight dizzy spells for a week after. Luckily only happened once to me but ended up having vertigo after that, which is either a coincidence or a result of the concussion.

It certainly can bring some circumspect to the mindset I found. I wouldn't go as far as to say one questions their own mortality but it shakes the confidence. I would imagine somewhat like an undefeated boxer after losing their first fight.

I've had it happen twice in the past 5 years playing footy, and yeah I definitely think it rattles the confidence if anything, I didn't play the following week both times due to club policy, but other than thinking about it in the back of your mind it didn't really effect me.

Cricket for me. Symptoms for 3 weeks (wasnt even knocked out, just concussed), couldnt play still for another 2 weeks after that. Probably took a good 3 months total to feel anything like i did pre-concussion though. Played like arse.

I know you’re reading this Tim, and looking for advice. Take a week to make sure it’s perfect for next week mate. It’s a long season ;D
