That's not confirmation

I know it doesn't look good and it will likely be true, but there's been no confirmation as far as I can tell

Gotta agree. Some random on Twitter isn't confirmation. The TV show says likely to miss, but it's not a lock. The trip to Perth and the fact GWS are trying to be more cautious with guys (Kelly not playing R1) tells me he probably does miss though

either way teams will be announced tomorrow (correct?)
if named as emergency then a possibility
but if not flying friday morning then surely not
plenty of time to make a decision on benching or replacing

Optus was noted as being a very hard surface last year too. Not sure if they have made any progress in that regard but it would seem silly to play Kelly there for his first game but who knows. I remember thinking the Crows would be silly to play Walker round 1 on a noted hard & shifty surface at Etihad (not sure if that was last year or 2017) but they did & from memory he came back through the airport in a moon boot (precautionary they said) & he struggled to really get going for most of the season. On top of that, even though nobody pencils in losses & GWS will go in with a decent chance regardless, I don't think you lose too much ground if you drop a game to WCE in Perth. Very difficult to win over there at the best of times. After all, WCE are the kings of 'positive affirmation". On a side note, out of curiosity, I wonder what the win/loss ratio is for teams unveiling their flag?

Dunn might have injured his ACL again in the VFL earlier tonight

Mat0369

Also going to take a stab with this one and say Riewoldt may have a hairline fracture in his arm. He looked like he really struggled anytime he had to put pressure near it.

And early reports are 6-8 weeks out with fractured scaphoid

Giants website in team selection video "Toby Greene won't make trip to Perth due to a calf injury". Thought general soreness was very iffy.

Could only be 1 week

Cameron has opted not to risk Greene for the trip to Perth after the forward pulled up sore following Sunday’s match.

“He’s a bit sore in his calf so we’re not going to take him over,” Cameron said.

“He pulled up a little sore cramping-wise in the last 10 minutes of the game, he was very tight so he’s not going to play this weekend.

“With a six-day break, we can’t risk him and we hope he’s right and ready to go next week.”

I moved Toby Greene on, i know its only week 1, but he has shown he is injury prone, so most likely will be patchy to start the season even if he plays rnd 3, plus I dont want to miss the points this week.

Serves Richmond right for dropping Balta and playing Riewoldt in the ruck :P

Reckon I will too. 1 week could become 2 then 3 and looks likely he’ll be managed throughout the season. Can’t see him playing 20+ games. Worpel for me I think.

Dumped for JD. Any excuse to bring in some more Eagles now my season is cooked, and Greene can't be trusted for more than 15 games imo

JACK RIEWOLDT

Star Tigers forward Jack Riewoldt will not require surgery for his injured arm sustained in last night's loss to Collingwood, but will miss approximately 4 weeks due to tendon damage.

If you own the injured Tiger, it's time to move him on.

Richmond have no clue, crazy playing a 30 year old with little experience as a ruck. This year will be a wake up call for the club, our tall stocks are very, very ordinary & we've just lost two AA players. Good for Balta but can see the Tigers dropping out of the top 4.
