Lin Jong is set for a significant period on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring at training on Thursday, the injury has been described as ‘a high-grade hamstring tear’ via Bulldogs media.

Tigers forward Josh Caddy has hurt his ankle and will be held out of training for at least the next 3 weeks. This now means he will likely miss the JLT series and be in doubt for Round 1.

and an update on DeGoey
Collingwood have confirmed there's no break or ligament damage for Jordan De Goey, however, he will be in a moonboot for a week, then Collingwood will determine how long he will miss.

From what I understand he's a pretty decent shout to play round 1. The surgery is normally only 1 month out, but Collingwood may be cautious with him

STEFAN MARTIN

Brisbane have stated that their ruck position is up for grabs as Stefan Martin has been dealing with back and ankle niggles during the preseason.

Stefan Martin has been playing as a forward during match simulation, with the younger Archie Smith dominating as the number one ruckman.
Dang and he was the safest R2 I thought.

Nah mate, thats Goldy ;)

Yeah read that article KB would be having second thoughts if I were thinking about starting Stef even if he started R1 a poor performance or two could see Smith in the side quick smart.

I thought McInerney went past Smith last year?
McInerney is a F/R and was used as such. Both Smith and martin are both rucks so only one will play.

The history of Harley Bennell's calves

Sunday, March 2, 2014 â€" Bennell plays a pre-season game for Gold Coast against Collingwood but a problematic calf issue means he doesn't return, via the NEAFL, until April.

Pre-Christmas, 2015 â€" Suffered a calf injury and has 'ongoing calf problems' during the pre-season.

Saturday, March 19, 2016 â€" Calf strain while playing for Peel Thunder. Picked up 23 disposals and slotted four goals in that display.

Friday, November 18, 2016 â€" Left calf strain at training, which was then considered his 'good' calf.

Sunday, December 10, 2016 â€" Bennell leaves for Munich, Germany, to consult with world-renowned soft-tissue expert Dr Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt for his problematic calves.

Tuesday, April 4, 2017 â€" Another left calf injury. Initially diagnosed as a minor tear but further scans showed it was more serious than first thought. Had yet to resume full training before that setback.

Wednesday, February 14, 2018 â€" Grade one tear in his left calf while training with Peel.

Saturday, June 2, 2018 â€" Calf tightness in his fourth-straight game for Peel. Sat out the second half of the clash with Claremont.

Saturday, July 28, 2018 â€" Left calf injury while playing for Peel. Pulled up short early in the last quarter after a 27-disposal and two-goal effort against West Perth and went to the bench, but eventually returned to the field.

Saturday, August 18, 2018 â€" Calf injury while playing for Peel in the second half of a match against Claremont, attempting a comeback after three weeks on the sidelines.

Week of January 21, 2019 â€" Bennell experiences calf tightness during a pre-season training session.

Friday, February 8, 2019 â€" Bennell strains a calf while training. No timeline yet for his recovery.

He was on benders well before his calf issues, his calves have just stopped him from getting away these days...
