Cheap rookies,  if anything Setterfield, Scrimshaw and Blakey are all likely to be downgraded to cheaper rookies come round 1.
Def  - One only of Laird or Lloyd.   Very happy with Williams, Whitfield and Newman.    Always unwilling to pay overs for defenders.
Mids - Mitchell only real certainty to maintain points.   choice of oliver or cripps.  Think Zerrett will be benefit from Shiel and Crouch will get back to +115 average.    Libba good value stepping stone hopefully until end of byes at least.
Ruck-  Grundy has less downside than Gawn.   Not sure what Melb will do with Pruess and Gawn seems more injury risk than Grundy.    Hoping we get a cheap starting ruck by start of the season to plug in at R2.     R3 will be one of fort of brooksby.     I plan on getting 102k m/f as loophole option.
Fwds - Danger is must starter  rest are open for consideration.    Love Heeney and he should continue to improve.  Lobb may turn into Toby Greene.   Kennedy is underpriced and highly likely to >90 avg fwd.

Rookies will be preferenced to mature agers where available.

Money Shot

I’m not confident in a cheap R2 playing round 1 and even if he does I doubt his job security will be any good.

Lobb is the other pick I don’t like. He wants to play forward, hence moving to Freo over West Coast and will be the second tall behind Hogan.

Apart from that I do like the side.

Defence
Lloyd or Laird tick
Whitfield and Williams tick
Newman is worth considering, showed at the Swans he can score well off half back and Docherty injury opens up some space to do that. Can he do it in a crap team tho?
I'd be more interested if he was 300k.

Mids
Similar to what I have in mind
Titch the must have
3 more premos with at least one cheaper option. I'm keen on Zerrett for reasons u stated, Crouch not so much but I'm still salty about getting him in cheap instead of Macrae
Libba at M5 is tempting

Rucks
Grundy picks himself
You've got cash to get R2 sorted.

Forwards
Danger and Heeney locks for me
Lobb I have serious doubts on won't play enough ruck unless Sandi and/or Darcy go down. Just get Greene at F4 if fit, gives you nearly 100k extra to spend elsewhere.
JJK is a decent price, too risky as a KPP getting on but could give you a nice start if he explodes out of the blocks. He does have games in rounds 1,4,5, 7+8 where he could go bang with harder games in between.

thankyou for the feedback MS and ubeaut.
if no cheap r2 option may go goldstein.     lobb will go for toby greene.
thats it nothing to do now 3 months......

SilverLion

Defence: Tick. Don't mind Newman as a mid-pricer.

Mids: Tick. Zerrett and MCrouch both good PoDs.

Rucks: Plenty of cash to adjust R2. Tick.

Fwds: Probably wouldn't go for Lobb personally, but many options available for a similar price.

All the best for 2019 crowls ;)

GoLions

Yeah I assume cash in hand will go towards R2. I feel like Libba at M5 is too weak, but if we want to start some of the elites (Titch, Danger, Grundy, etc), I reckon it might be the way to go.

Who the flower said Newman was 294k though when prices and possies were being leaked?! 394k means he has to be a keeper...not sure if that will happen.

Ringo

Nice structure to start with. Just need to sort R2 and R3.

Time for an update, will run with this unless injury or non starters
No 2nd guessing this year.

Feedback welcome.

kilbluff1985

will u be playing Mundy in the mids?

i think you will want 3 mid rookies on the field opposed to Moore/Setters/Drew

Hind and Gibbons to good to be on the bench

i'm happy running 3 mid rookies then 2 in def/fwd

look at this way Mundy/Gibbons on field or Mundy/Drew etc

did u hear about Fyfe having surgery to

maygs

I can't back it up, but I can't see Moore scoring well for us this year - just a gut feeling.

to use the DPP you could move either Rozee or Burgess into the FWDS.  That puts Duursma on the field - instead of that money on the bench.

You could also then pick up Logue or Quaynor and a little more $ left over.

Hope this helps and doesn't just cause more confusion.   :)

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I am not sure who will be a good mid option at my price point.  Mundy enables me to move him fwds as a keeper later on and likely to pump out 105 type scores in the meantime.

Moore - fits my structure and enables a good def/fwd connection.   Will play him where best enables me to load up correct rookies.

I am quite bullish on Gresham and Acres from St Kilda.  Think Gresham is more likely to break out and cheaper so he got the gurnsey.  Not sure what impact Jack Stevens taking time away from the game may have on StKilda and their mids and onballers.   More likely Acres on ball and Gresham centre.. StKilda fans care to comment?

Fyfe surgery not an issue yet, have to wait and see what happens between now and start of season.

Rookies on field is only a concern in run up to First Round will sort itself out then.

Read great article in Age on Essendon implementing Richmond defensive approach and will be great to see it bear fruit.  Top 4 a possibility for those with an optimistic outlook.  Such as BOMBERS RULE.

latest,
downgraded def and strengthened mids fwds
still open to matt crouch in lieu of brayshaw.  just sucks for byes.

Like this a lot crowls, very similar structure to what I'm working with. A little light down back but so long as Scrimshaw & Clark play every week it should be fine. Midfield & Forwards look great

Good luck!

Thanks SS,  will review again today to assess how to handle Roberton if he does not play.   Simple downgrade to Ridley is an option.  Would leave me with 200k to spend.  Not sure where to spend it.

squeezed in sheed for cousins, ridley for roberton.
