Money Shot

Anyone who thinks Newman is a legitimate option at his price is kidding themselves. Will have good games but in a young Carlton team he will have some stinkers as well.

Need to start at least 1 of the high price guys IMO. Probably 2 of them tbh

It's going to be hard to bring in several defenders at 500k during the season

That's the big risk although I can see scoring being reigned in a little this year, think all the 570k guys drop in price.

No doubt they will drop, but what I am saying is it's still very difficult to get them

Say Laird drops to 520k, and your def rookies have hit 250-300k - there's a good chance you're going to need 3 trades in total - a double downgrade + upgrade, just to get a 500k+ def in your side

Just something to think about

You realise it’s all relative ahah? Less premos you start in defence means more premos elsehwere and less upgrades required in otherness positions. So for me I’ll need 5 defensive upgrades, 2/3 mid upgrades and 2 forward upgrades.

Exactly.

Didn't a guy go an all rookie mid and won the comp? Was and when GCS started

Even with no Newman there's Williams, Robo, Smith, Moore, Ridley, Scrimshaw, Duursma and Hore on bench. If worried about Robo there's Wither at 455k

Mid price options are driving me crazy

Can't settle on a structure until I make a decision on which ones I really want to start, or if I just boycott them all

I think Brodie Smith, Libba and Greene are the only ones I'm really considering now. Moore too, but he's much cheaper, basically an expensive rookie in my eyes

Just can't settle on what to do with these 3, especially Brodie

LaHug

Would you guys go Moore over Collins in the backline? I've got a spare $50k right now (although I should probably hold it until teams are named).

certainly feeling its worth it if im paying that much i want someone with some upside. Certainly feel there is an avenue where moore can push 70+ and be very handy.

If not then id rather just pick up a 145k or less guy.

He is an AA heading into his prime with multiple previous 90+ averages in a year where forward prems are bleak all for 350k.

Fast forward to the last half dozen games & you are scratching around for a decent forward to fill F6 or F7, would you then look at Greene at 355k? Think the answer to that will determine if he's worthwhile.
