Roberton, Miles, Libba and Greene the only ones I’m considering. At the moment I have none.

Moore is in my side but he is priced below 250k so he is more of a top end rookie price than a mid pricer imo.
Isn't he like 245k? :p

I'd call him a mid pricer haha
Yeah he is. Makes me feel more comfortable saying he is cheaper than a midpricer though ;)

More is a mid-price option, but those picking him are expecting a Marchbank type deal where he is 50-70k more than the traditional rookies and can make some quick cash with a couple of early big scores. The difference is that Marchbank at least looked like he could score in the year prior to him coming to the Blues (in a limited sample size of 1 and a quarter games). Moore has had 4 years for a whopping 61 as his largest average and F all tons.

He played forward a lot and may benefit from the switch. He could pull a Liam Jones and average 75ish which is probably good enough to generate cash. With how fragile his body is and how awkwardly priced he is I'd rather take the punt on Hanley.

The only reason Moore is now being considered is because he has been training as a defender, and has been taking kick outs

There's a lot of Sicily about this

The previous 4 years are somewhat irrelevant - this is a new position and role that's much more SC friendly than his previous, so that coupled with the low price tag is what has spruiked interest.

Injury to Carlisle probably means Roberton will be playing more man on man than ideal to start the season. Think that's just about put a line through him for me.

Thats a bit of a stretch. The main relevance out of that is Wilkie may be a chance to squeeze in somewhere
They wouldn't play Wilkie in place of Carlisle unless Roberton, their intercepting defender, was switched to play 2nd tall which isn't going to happen. Roberton will still be playing 7th defender, he'll just need to help Austin or whichever other spud is in the St. Kilda KPD succession order to cover an opponent when needed, like he was doing at the start of last year.

Lol yep, who wants a best 22 player who could have kick ins and a good role!

Only mid pricers on my radar are newman and roberton atm.

Sabretooth Tigers

Roberton,  Miles,  Daniher  and  D Moore.

SilverLion

Roberton, Miles and Greene for me atm. Tend to have one on each line most years.

Would like to hear some reasons as to why Roberton would displace Webster, who is younger, performed better in that role (even before Roberton’s injury last year), has a more penetrating kick and is less versatile in terms of he couldn’t really fill that 3rd tall defender spot, in the qb role for the saints.

I think role is key in Roberton going 90+  and would have thought the incumbent in that role who performed at a decent level last year would get first crack at it this season.

Roberton's 2017 season was better than any season Webster has had IMO.

Agreed. But Webster is much younger so would expect year on year improvement due to natural progression. Also there appeared to be a role change for Robbo last year before the unfortunate incident and Webster seemed to step into that rebounding role and performed quite well so not certain that Robbo would step straight back into that role especially since he is also more adaptable to playing other roles (3rd tall ect.)

Roberton's success in 2017 was largely due to his role with Carlisle and Brown both playing 22 games and freeing him up to play as a half back/interceptor. It's why I started him R1 that year in SC.
With Carlisle out for a questionable 5 months and Clavarino  (rookie but suitable replacement with a year in the system) possibly out for 2 months with a right ankle syndesmosis sprain Roberton's role may not be as wonderful as it was in 2017.  Brown is suspended for the first two games as well I think.
Austin is available though I think, having overcome a shoulder problem and Battle is being trained as a defender so who really knows.
All this aside, Roberton is cheap as chips. He's flying at training and well worth a staring pick. If he hits 90+ it'll be a nice bonus.
