I've never doubted Brad Crouch's ability but I just cannot trust him to play 20+ games, and at 418k that's a lot of coin to risk

25 years old and games played

2013: 14
2014: 11
2015: 0
2016: 14
2017: 17
2018: 0

That's about as bad as it gets

I touched on it in my article, its really odd how he misses games. He usually gets injured pre-season and has a delayed start to the year then comes back and gets a good run at it. Last year they gave him a write off year even tho he probably could've played just to ensure this year was his year. And its his first pre-season in ages where he hasnt been injured so he gets his chance at those runs of games he gets from the start of the year. He has shown he can do 21/22 as Holz stated, which is more than acceptable for a year.

The fact he had a niggle already is kind of worrying. He also slaughtered an under 23 team so I won't hold much in regards to the Port hit-out. Having said that, he does have a good ceiling and you can't doubt his ability. If I am going to take a punt on someone in a similar situation at a similar price it's Rockliff.

currently got brad crouch in the squad.

in 2017 he played 20 out of 21 games in a row (inc finals) once he was up and running.

He had a limited preseason, so much so that his first game was round 5. He then pumped out a 87 average over his first 9 games.

Then when he was up and running he pumped out a 108 average over the last 11 games. 148 138 121 120 does have a nice ceiling.

priced at an average of 77, if he can just replicate his 2017 then he will be decent enough pumping out a 85ish and then once up and runing he could be a legitimate M8 based on those numbers.

having probably his best ever preseason with only a small week niggle during the preseason. Looking to play both JLT games aswell.

Find this funny. 2 preseasons ago you gave me a serve about this bloke.

Brad crouch is a gun!!!!

Rolling with both crouch’s??

I have strongly considered dropping Matt for brad and going def rookie to mid pricer

You sure?

Im pretty sure i might be the biggest brad crouch fan on this site.

He had a week niggle.

He played 20 out of 21 games off a bad preseason.

He has had a few soft tissue things but thats probably half due to being underdone. Probably could have played late last year and since then a 1 week niggle which is less then half the guys we will pick as premos

He has played 0 games 2 out of the last 4 years and has never cracked more than 17 games in the home and away season. His next best is 14 twice. History says otherwise and you don't risk injury prone guys that are dealing with injuries. Especially with a guy who has minor injuries that tend to have him missing chunks of the season.

Excluding rucks, if you could only pick 1 Mid Pricer this year, who would it be?

Brodie Smith, Dylan Roberton, Pearce Hanley
Anthony Miles, Tom Liberatore, Tom Rockliff, Brad Crouch
Toby Greene, Joe Daniher

I think that's all of them - well the ones most are considering in one way or another

If you could only pick one, who do you think will be the best one to pick this year?

They have to be playing Round 1 of course, and with these picks you need to consider all of JS, Durability, Cash Gen potential, Scoring Potential and if they can become a stepping stone or keeper, so there's a lot to factor

Please feel free to let me know if I've missed someone

crowls

Of that list Roberton or Miles.  Greene will be hard to resist if he starts.  Could swap Gresham for Greene at F3.

Maybe one of these ...

Not really looking for breakout contenders - more so Mid Pricers who are priced this way for a reason Eg Injury

Newman and Williams

I don't consider either, especially Williams, a mid pricer. Williams is a discounted prem - at that price he's picked as a prem/keeper

I'm likely to just start 1 this year, only because funds permit it. Robbo vs Miles/Libba I reckon - JLT will decide it. GnR everywhere else if I can

JJK, Moore are other options still on my watchlists.

Haha, that old chesnut again, 'one mans mid pricer is another mans premo'.
Of your list of candidates, Toby Greene probs the only one to finish near the top 10 of their position, but only IF he can stay on the park and it's a big IF.

i agree, I have dylan, but not written off darcy appearing in my forward line if he starts taking kick ins during JLT
