Miles averaged 89.8 the year Richmond finished 13th, certainly passable but an 8 point drop. GC would be red hot favourites for the wooden spoon, pretty confident that Miles will be in the 85-90 region. Think those who are banking on 100 might be disappointed.

I'm thinking he goes at about 90, but anything above is obviously a clear bonus

This is reminding me of Titch in a way. Titch was the 4th/5th mid at Sydney and moved to Haw as the #1 guy and his points soared. Miles is somewhat similar - was always low in the pecking order when he still scored as well as he did.

100avg isn't out of the question, but I'll be happy with 90+ and for 340k that seems like pretty good value to me

Agreed. He's not in the class of Titch but similar in that he is just a ball magnet that lacked opportunity. Got 35 every week in the VFL but couldn't cement a spot in the seniors.

My position on Miles; the move can't be bad for him, but expectations should be tempered. I see it as Lyons > Miles and he only managed mid 90s. Still value in salary formats

Disagree slightly - I think Miles is better than Lyons as an on the ball player. He will be suited to the new 6-6-6- structure as well. I am anticipating something on 95/100 average which is sound for $340k. Only issue as I see it there are a number of Suns players that may get mid time and may take points. Ainsworth, Milller , Swallow, Brodie, Bowes, Fiorini and Martin all will be there at some time.  All the youngsters will be trying to influence Dew to stay in the mids. Miller rumoured to be in line for the Captaincy as well.

Lyons had a fair bit of pressure on him when he moved to GC, IMO he was just a cog for the Crows who was having a solid year prior to leaving.  Miles is just a ball magnet, if Greene doesn't look 100% I'll be bringing in Miles and my F4 will prob be a rookie (fingers crossed someone exists).

Miles can't play any other position, so if he's in the squad he will be 100% mid

Some of those other guys will rotate through other positions but I'd expect Miles to be pure mid always

In a recent match sim, he "Was on the bottom of nearly every pack"

Agree to disagree, love the preseason excitement as usual :P I'd put my house on Miles going sub 95 though, each to their own

Another thing I dont get. Lyons dropped a few times last season because GC had "too many of the same player" so they bring in Miles to replace him who has even less of an outside game. Dafukkkk ::)

Also if we are talking tempered expectations, dont start me on Libba haha

I've always said I think Miles will go 85-90, but it is possible he could go more, so my expectations are very realistic

As for Lyons, I don't give two showers what the club or he said - he was clearly pushed out of that club, probably for personal reasons that we will never know about

Yeah that seems like the obvious reason

The guy lead so many key stats for them - so to get dropped several times it was clear it was personal

Rock bottom and Barlow couldn't even get a game.

Not sure if people just missed it over the offseason, but there was this article on JL and why he left GC for Brisbane and has a line about the supposed reason he was dropped during the season.

So he was told in his exit meeting that he'd need to fight for his spot, and that in turn meant more NEAFL was on the cards

GC rolled out the reasons why he was dropped and what he needed to improve on, but it's all BS. He was getting dropped well before Brisbane came knocking and he was happy to stay at that point because that was his only choice

Brisbane come along, and he tells GC to delist him and they happily do

Clearly, it was personal, and several things said in the article indicate that

Anyway, we all move on so JL leaving only helps Miles

Has been a lock for a while..

I am still considering his teammate Witts as R2
