Apparently Ryan Daniels from Channel 7 Perth reported that the Neale trade will be done as early as tomorrow.

Herald Sun saying Lions still in the dark about Beams but figures familiar with the situation expect him to be back at the Pies before the trade deadline for draft picks if true surely the Lions will cough up what Freo is asking for Neale

Beams manager still saying publicly that he has not requested a trade.  However the club itself may be trying to arrange something based on a comment I read last week and this was the last paragraph:
"However, his stated position with Brisbane in meetings with CEO Greg Swann and football manager David Noble was that he would not ask to be traded, but if the club identified a deal it was interested in, he would be happy to return before his contract expired." The big question is what have Collingwood got to offer that is acceptable.

"It is understood Fremantle’s bombshell statement on Friday was prompted by an effective ultimatum from the Demons â€" for the Dockers to accept Melbourne’s terms or walk away. Fremantle chose to stand their ground and walk."

Heaps of chatter on twitter tonight about Beams deal being close

SilverLion

Beams' manager on trade radio just before confirming that Beams is happy to see out his contract, but if a trade can be worked out that would be fair to Brisbane he would be open minded to it. He said that Beams wants to head home at the end of his contract anyway, so I suppose it makes sense to try and get a good deal for him now.

This is all old news, the entire thing has been a massive media beat up. Pies don't have the cattle to get a trade done so 90% chance at this stage he plays with us next year.

But Beams is old and injury prone, only worth a 3rd rounder.

I reckon 90% it will get done then you will be able to pay fair compo for Neale and Freo wil be able to satisfy the Dee's for Hogan although I don't know why Hogan wouldn't finish his contract , every chance of a flag in the next couple of years and basically zero chance at Freo  ;)

Given Hawks are supposedly picking up Scully for a 3rd rounder as well. Know which one I would prefer as Beams has played more games than Scully over the last two years. Brisbane also paid overs to get Beams so it is fair to expect something decent in return.

Beams is worth what Gibbs was worth.

Pretty much the best they can offer too, based on their current picks, outside of offering a player

Well, they could offer a future first as well. We've already knocked it back.
