Barlow isn't ready to retire yet, and is hoping he can be picked up

He actually said Carlton would be a good fit, and that he could help Cripps in terms of taking some of the load, plus provide leadership etc
Part of me would love him at Carlton as in my eyes he would easily be best 22 and help take some pressure off Cripps. In saying that he would push one of our fringe best 22 players (O'brien for example) out of the side which would not be much of a help in the long run.

Am I the only impartial person who thinks Carlton should not go for Mitch McGovern?

Keep developing McKay, Curnow as forwards and use your currency you have to go after mids to help Cripps.

Surely midfield quality players like Shiel are a higher priority for Carlton?
100% agree. If we can get him for a fair price (24, 25 and a SANFL player) he is worth it but I would much rather use a top end pick on getting the top end midfielders.

I had no idea Mitch Mcgovern was this good :P Talks of him being in a deal for N1 are ridiculous surly, i wouldnt even pay the above this year tbh

Would be happy to hear your thoughts but not sure how you can expect more than that

The only reason Carlton are chasing Gov and probably paying overs is because he is one of the rare players who actually said he wants to go to them!

A single pick in the 17-24 range is all he's worth, but I'm sure overs will be paid

Can't see the Crows making it to easy for the Blues after the Gibbs saga but then again Gov does not wan't to be there so that might dampen there bargaining power a bit.

Would seem like the suns are a good shot at getting Townsend. Potentially getting 2 more former tigers in during the off season, 3 would increase the chance of keeping them all

It’s hard being a Queenslander following the AFL, we can’t seem to keep anyone decent

Whilst he’s definitely not worth anything near pick 1, I don’t think it’s fair to judge him based on his 2018 or even his 2017 season due to injuries, form etc., look at his first year of playing AFL footy where he kicked 32 goals while pretty much playing as the 5th option. He’s a key forward who is extremely agile for his size, great contested mark, and provides a lot defensive pressure which most KPFs don’t do, there’s a reason Carlton are paying him the big bucks now, he can also play behind the ball as an interceptor. You could replace a small forward with him and barely lose anything on the ground except a bit of speed but gain a huge marking threat. The club has already said we will only trade him if we get a good deal, and a mid range 2nd and a mature age player who might not go until the rookie draft otherwise is not a good deal for us. If the deal doesn’t significantly help us land Luko or Rankine, I wouldn’t be surprised if we hold him to his contract, the club believes they’re still in a premiership window and Mitch would be a big part of that. If that happens and Mitch cracks the showers and doesn’t perform, all he does is damage his payday next offseason and his trade value in the club’s case but we’re not just gonna give him away for peanuts now. All that being said though, I have no idea what the deal with end up being :P Hopefully a mid first rounder around 10 with something else of ours going their way, how Carlton gets that done I don’t know, but a 3rd club may need to be involved.

Also sorry for essay :P

Worth pick 2 imo :P Grab yourself one of Lukio or Rankine otherwise you wouldnt bother losing such a high calibre player ;)

Vandenberg going to Sydney according to On The Couch

Saints have offered Shiel 8M for 6 years.

Pillage of the Suns continues with Kade  Kolodjashnij reportedly seeking a trade to Melbourne.

Also a bit of a rumour that Pies have given up on Marcus Adams and Brisbane may be offering a 4 year deal. Could be some truth here as Fages has always wanted to try Andrews forward.  Will be graet doe Brisbane if we land Neale, Adams, McCarthy and some suggesting Jackson Thurlow as well although do not want him. Mayes wants to return to SA so there may be a movement out and some rumours of Ben Keays wanting to go to the Suns.

One thing for certain though this is going to be the most exciting trade period ever as I think I am now up to 40 players leaving clubs according to rumours.

Lynch has finally announced to Gold Coast that he's going to Richmond. Let's just hope this all goes as smoothly as it should...

Thurlow could definitely come good, like for like for Mayes I reckon. Two high picks that have yet to live up to their hype, an extended run at it up in Brissie could be the go

Biiig Adams fan if he can get his body right
