The GIANTS have received pick 43 and a future second-round pick from Carlton in exchange for midfielder Will Settefield and pick 71

Freo a joke

Rumours are at 23 Ross still counts him as a kid so didn't want to give up high draft picks for someone he wouldn't give a game to...

#559
We'll end up getting him. Belly is just putting it back on Melb because they were looking to move him on to get May.
It's only Friday, it'll happen

Purple 77

Hahahaha.

What a bunch of amateurs!

I seriously don't believe Freo have withdrawn their interest, what a see-through ploy at trying to get him cheaper.

And if it really is true... you're seriously going to let your ONLY opportunity since Pavlich-twilight years to land the key forward you've been crying out for? Goodness me. I hope Pick 5 is everything you hope for.

Absolute joke.

But also... YES! May is overrated, and Jesse SEVERELY underrated. Stoked he is staying :D :D

I wonder if Bell has realised Jesse isn't a free agent next year? A lot still haven't after all :-X

Bell is the new Adrian Dodoro!! :)
Big raps for a guy who’s been in charge such a short time!!! ;)

Even if his hardline pays off this year, clubs are not going to want to deal with him if this is how he behaves.

Absolutely.

Freo, having recruited some good young mids to play alongside Fyfe, now have the chance to set up their spine for years to come with Hogan and Lobb both keen to play there next year.

They proceed to treat both players, and their respective clubs, with total disrespect.

It sends a bad signal to any player who wants to go there in the future, and will turn off clubs when dealing with them in the future.

Horrible stuff from a currently poorly run club.

Ricochet

Ha the hate everywhere is real atm ;D

The way I see it is...
Melb initially wanted two first rounders (may have even seen two top 10 picks)
Freo offered 11 and a 2nd rounder
Both are obviously a little off (Melb have now apparently said they would taken 6 and a 2nd rounder which is probs about right imo)

Bell has been consistent in wanting to convince Neale to stay
Melb want pick 5 in the Neale compo involved
Freo don't have 5 atm and if they're trying to convince Neale to stay, then can't use it in an offer

Freo have walked away with Bell stating that what "Melb would be seeking for a trade would not be possible for our club to meet"
Rosich added after that they still wanted Hogan but not at Melbourne's price.

Until Bell concede's that he cannot convince Neale to stay, then they cannot use #6 in a trade for Hogan,
So there's no point continuing discussion with Melb until that happens, or Melb drop their offer. The former is most likely imo

Remember we have a lot going on with other moving parts. Lobb needs to come in for a late teens/early 20s pick, there's Tom Langdon and apparently we're still looking into Kelly,

It's only Friday. There's plenty more to play out. I'm sure it'll happen :)

RaisyDaisy

Surely Lobb is worth more than a late teens early 20's pick?

And Kelly's manager has said for the second time today that Kelly doesn't want to go to Freo at all. He'll stay at Geelong for another year if he can't get to WCE

If Neale is saying he wants to go, then just get it all done already

Hogan and Lobb to Freo, Neale to Brisbane and May to Melbourne (although I don't understand why they want him so bad)

Purple 77

Then freo should offer next year's first rounder + 11 for hoges. For goodness sake, he's worth two first rounders every day of the week.

I can't stamp my feet up and down dramatically enough! :P
