I don't think anyone is getting too carried away :P From what I've seen the chat in this thread is about the most level headed I've seen about the whole kick-in rule! Have a look at some of the nonsense on twitter haha

LaHug

I think the big difference between this thread and some of the crazy comments on social media is that we're using actual numbers most of the time to back up our arguments.

Everyone needs to chill out on this whole kick in stuff

Most players doing the bulk of the kick ins are only going to add 5-10 points max to their average, but the emphasis being put on it here you'd think they're going to score way more

Brodie Smith is a tricky one. He could push 90 and in that case you've done well for his price, but he could be stuck in the mid 80s and although it's serviceable you'll be losing points every week to better defenders and at his price he really needs to become a keeper and not a stepping stone

well Witherden could easily go from averaging 83 to close to 100 based on your own theory  and some naturaL development

say if he gains 5 from development and another 5-10 from kick in points  not much of a stretch to me to go 95+

Yeah I'd certainly think Witherden could land in the 90-95 range quite comfortably, but my point was more so around the fact that the emphasis on this kick out is becoming a lot greater than what it will likely actually be

People thinking kick out guys are going to score way more points now, or the short kick is dead etc. Just calm down is all I'm saying
Averaged over 87 taking out his last injured score. Given natural development alone 90 is not much of a stretch at all. Forget the kick ins change I’d still pick him.

Brodie Smith is currently D4 in my team, makes the defence look less vulnerable. Think he’s good for 85.

Current locks - Danger, Grundy, Fyfe, Lloyd

Not worried about Lloyd only just getting back from hip surgery man?

How fit does he have to be to mince around the backline playing on nobody?  :-X
Hahaha this, lloyd will be fine the sheep dawg

Ringo

Anyway back on topic my locks are Lloyd, Cripps, Grundy and Danger. Witherden and Dusty are the other 2 that have not left any of my teams so virtual locks as well.

Money Shot

Williams, Grundy, Danger

GoLions

I think Williams, Crippa, Grundy, Gawn, Danger, and Heeney are yet to leave my side.

I can't see any scenario where I don't start any of these guys

Laird
Grundy
Danger
Heeney

Cripps, Lloyd, Williams and Gawn very close to locks for me as well, but there is a 1% chance they can move so they're not perma locks like the 4 above

Dahl biggest lock

Outside of Danger Jelly and probably Menegola there is no way I'd trust any Geelong option lmao

Even Jelwood is probably heading backward. I'd strongly consider Tuohy with kickins but he's in doubt for round 1 and he hasn't had an interrupted preseason, he's had no preseason haha

Just read a very interesting article about the Geelong boys actually.

Ablett to play predominately forward, Danger/Jelly to split time between mid/fwd.

Duncan, T Kelly Scooter the 3 mentioned to maintain mid minutes. Parfitt and Constable to take up the slack of the extra mid minutes as well as Narkle. Very interesting

Hmm, Duncan was pushed out of the midfield hence his drop off last season. Played more wing floating to half back. Hope he picks up more mid minutes, but I can see them preferring to get some more speed through there (Parfitt, Narkle as mentioned).

Wonder if Jelwood gets significant time fwd, F/M in 2020? ;D
