Not worried about Lloyd only just getting back from hip surgery man?

Laird, Oliver, Kelly, Fyfe, Danger and Heeney. They are probably the only ones that haven't left my team since it opened.

How fit does he have to be to mince around the backline playing on nobody?  :-X

I think just because a lot of people are only going with 2 premo defenders along side Williams and rookies. If not enough rookies are available round 1 then Smith will be a lot more popular as a D4 option

Mat0369

You also have Roberton and he is cheaper

Genuinely feel like primary kickers will make up a majority of the top 10 defenders. Even if Smith only gets a couple kicks extra a game hes still going mid 80s, nice for that price!

Yeah, I really like Smith as a unique option. I doubt Brown takes that many kickouts if Smith is healthy. He has a booming kick and I think the play on and launch it option (particularly with a good tall like Sauce) will be a very popular option.

Everyone needs to chill out on this whole kick in stuff

Most players doing the bulk of the kick ins are only going to add 5-10 points max to their average, but the emphasis being put on it here you'd think they're going to score way more

Brodie Smith is a tricky one. He could push 90 and in that case you've done well for his price, but he could be stuck in the mid 80s and although it's serviceable you'll be losing points every week to better defenders and at his price he really needs to become a keeper and not a stepping stone

If I picked Smith and he averaged mid 80's I would be pretty happy with at D4 for his price and Huggy said he is a bit of a unique but he is already in 19% of teams a good showing in JLT and that will be much higher

well Witherden could easily go from averaging 83 to close to 100 based on your own theory  and some naturaL development

say if he gains 5 from development and another 5-10 from kick in points  not much of a stretch to me to go 95+

He averaged 82 in 2017 and, if there's 10 points to be gained from kick ins, that's 92. Great value for his price at D4.

Of course, a lot depends on rookies, but that's always the case. I'm hoping I can go very heavy on defender premiums/mid-pricers because that's where the value lies.

Witherden’s injury in R22 where he scored only 13 pts dropped his average by a bit too making him even better value for this year
He’s not left my team.

Yeah I'd certainly think Witherden could land in the 90-95 range quite comfortably, but my point was more so around the fact that the emphasis on this kick out is becoming a lot greater than what it will likely actually be

People thinking kick out guys are going to score way more points now, or the short kick is dead etc. Just calm down is all I'm saying
