Boy oh boy, this year will be interesting.

Doubt you can go more than 4 deep in the mids without seriously compromising other lines.

and we await SC Picker later this week.  Will be interesting if cap is still 10m as well.

Gigantor

Interesting that the prices are cheaper than this year. First time in years the magic number has dropped.

Wonder if its because there is more high averaging players compared to other years

shaker

Looking like Grundy and a cheaper R2 next year to save some cash

Yep that is my take as well.
Grundy, Titch, Oliver and Danger.

MACRAE is close but he went from mainly outside mid to inside+out when Libba went down and wondering if he'll maintain that scoring /role with Libba fit, Hunter, Bont, Dunkley, McLean etc all running thru there. I'm hoping he'll drop in price.

FYFE is always getting injured but hard to leave out(IF he gets injured u trade, that's what trades are for) , hope I can afford him as well.

CRIPPS I'm looking at as an upgrade target after he deals with the two best taggers Hewett and Jacobs in the early rounds, hopefully he will drop in price also.

KELLY will cop the tag more with no Sheil possible upgrade target. Also had 8 scores under 100 and average inflated by that 205 against a weak and wounded Carlton.

LLOYD too hard to fit in with all the backline options, especially at that price. See if he backs up his first premo season, upgrade target.

GAWN can we afford the two best rucks from last season at their prices? and Danger  fwd and 2 - 3 top price mids? I doubt it and the Preuss factor will play a big part in which of Grundy or Gawn we decide to pair with a cheaper option.

Apparently Docherty today has had a serious knee injury at Carlton training. Could be another ACL according to Sam Landsberger from the HS on Twitter.

Just heard on radio listening to cricket: Docherty went down at training possible ACL

What are people thinking in regards to some of the ex prem guys who come in cheap this year due to injury/poor form?

Brodie Smith at 332k
Hanners at 326k
Greene at 355k

Mummy at 320k is value, but missing the first 2 games is a huge turn off. You'd probably need to start Hoff in your forward line to cover the first 2 weeks so that isn't attractive, but if someone like Zac Clarke or Darcy Fort line up R1 would you start them at R3 with Mummy on the bench for 2 weeks?

I know Brad Crouch at 418k will also interest many, but probably a pass for me at this stage. Libba I can imagine will be somewhere in the 300k range so he has to be at least considered

Birchall should be peanuts. I could easily see Birchall at D5 and Sam Collins at D6 plus two rookies on the bench

Smith Greene and Hanners are all quality and worth consideration at there price with the obvious high dollar guns a must have but lets see how Hanners and Greene go up to the season any set backs and I will pass.
Rucks might be tricky this year with Grundy locked finding a R2 that will score good without breaking the bank might be difficult , Goldy back in picture this year for me.
Backs don't seem to much of a drama even with Docherty gone , can't wait till team picker is out so I can start flowering around  ;D

Brodie Smith no. Would have to be a huge shortage of rookies to consider. If Birch and/or Collins are options, along with all the premos(even without Doch) can't see a place for him.

Hanners a dubious maybe. Can't see him back to his best in afl or fantasy terms. He could however go 90+ which is OK for the price, like JOM who I started this year, and was OK made 100k but wished I'd forked out the extra for Coniglio. Can see why people would take a punt but thinking more Guns now Rookies at this stage.

Libba could be hungry with a point to prove, tempted if he's 300k.
Crouch at 420k is priced at higher end of a "mid pricer" injury risk a real concern but he's got the ability to be this year's Cogs(similar price) if fit.

Green is the one who interests me most of that lot, injury permitting. He may be a muppet but is a game breaking star with his best footy still ahead of him imo. Gets a fair bit of the pill even parked in the fwd line and just keeps kicking goals.
