Who is a lock for 2019?

I'm currently looking at guys that could get injury discounts like the following...

D: S. Docherty, Z. Williams, D. Roberton, B. Smith
M: B. Crouch, T. Scully
R:
F: J. Elliott

Who else is a lock? Dunkley as a forward? Whitfield as a defender? The ever-reliable Mitchell, Laird, Grundy, etc.?

Geez you're brave

I wouldn't touch B.Crouch, Scully or Elliott with a 10 foot pole. Roberton and Smith probably too much risk for me too. No mucking around next year

There's been a bit of discussion about this already in the "Planning for 2019" thread too

D: Docherty, Laird, Lloyd (One of Williams, Simmo or Sicily)
M: Titch, Danger, Oliver, Kelly, Macrae/Cripps (M.Crouch if I need a cheaper option)
R: Gawn, Grundy (Doesn't matter what they cost - set and forget)
F: No idea yet, Gray and Hoff solid but probably have the crap bye again

Having a quick look would be like-

Laird, Yeo (if defender), Williams, Whitfield

Danger (the ever reliable), Oliver (will win the brownlow next year), Titch

Gawn, Grundy or Pruess if he gets picked as main ruck somewhere else

Hoff, Sic (if still dpp), Toby Greene then have no idea haha

Lloyd, Laird Docherty, Williams
Mitchell, Cripps, Oliver, Kelly, M. Crouch, Merrett
Grundy, Gawn
Greene, Dahlhaus, T. Lynch, R. Lobb

Will build my team around this if I can fit all these premiums in.

Obviously this is based on no dpp changes.

Will be going cheap in the forward line next season though at this stage.

My bad. Missed that one!

Definitely will be going pure guns and rookies to start next season. Too many iffy picks derailed my season by the end, guys like Savage and Walters you take a punt on and end up being stuck with them..

I'm thinking similar to a few others:

DEF: Docherty, Laird, Lloyd, maybe Williams
MIDS: Mitchell, Danger, Oliver, Kelly, maybe Fyfe
RUCK: Gawn and Grundy - can't see these guys slowing down
FWD: Whoever the top premium options are - hopefully a few MID/FWDs retain their DPP

sammy123

Docherty my 1st lock.

Doch,laird,lloyd,yeo

Titch,danger,Oliver,kelly

Gawn amd grundy(hopefully they keep going)

Not sure hopefully devon smith and heeney again. Not gray when he plays fwd its a killer

No way Sicily will keep forward status. I think he played half a game forward for the year ;)

Hard to pick only 3/4 locks in the backline.
Docherty - gun with a discount.

Laird and Lloyd - absolute ball magnets that get midfielder numbers.

Sicily - intercept marking player great disposal efficiency and room to improve. Averaged 105 pre injury.

Whitfield - may go back to midfield with Williams back and Shiels possible trade.

Williams - will be good value.

Crisp - on the up with room to improve on the 95 avg this year.

Hurley - will be cheaper after late season slump. Depends on if he goes back to accumulation mode or focuses more on lock down.

Other options include Andrews,Frances,Witherden,Short.....

Laird Lloyd and Sicily will be too expensive to have all three.

LH,  you put the wine down yet.      Brodie, Crouch, Scully elliot,  sounds like a lot of hoping going on here.   Bit like wishing the eagles win the flag this year.

Looking at = hoping the discount is significant enough that they're almost just expensive rookies... Let a man dream :P

Williams.
Killing it in the final v Sydney.
76 pts beginning 3rd quarter.
No games no worries it seems.
Will be a bargain and should be in every team.

Def- Lloyd, Laird, Docherty, Williams.

Agree on Williams. Feel having both Lloyd and Laird will be too expensive given their average. Laird over Lloyd for me as he has had multiple premo seasons to Lloyd's one. Lloyd first upgrade target if he repeats his scoring from this year. Sicily is also high on the list. Lots of options down back, not many forward apart from Heeney and Danger if they get DPP.

No way I think I could do it, but Hanners played his best game in the past 2 years...change of scenery and full health, could be super underpriced.
