Pretty good 40. Coniglio the stiffest of the ones to miss

I can see some eye brow raising selections being made in the final 22

BB67th

Coniglio, Jetta, and Polec stiff to miss I reckon.

Would have any of them in over Cotchin and Lambert.

Good to see my boy Harris get into the squad. Shame he won't make the final team after missing so many games.

That's the team i think will be chosen. The team that I want to see happen has got all 4 Eagles in it because I love them all :-*

On second thought, one of Gray or Gunston could make way Devon Smith, but I'm content with the rest

I'm sure Danger probably makes it too, but I can't fit him in

Got pretty close for the most part  8)

Macrae, Yeo and Beams the 3 I got wrong, with Danger, Sidebottom and Edwards getting the nod over them

My picks:

B: Hurn (C), Rance, Laird
HB: Lloyd, McGovern, Whitfield
C: Macrae, Mitchell, Sidebottom
HF: Martin, Riewoldt (VC), Hawkins
FF: Breust, Brown, Caddy
Foll: Gawn, Cripps, Oliver

Bench: Grundy, Yeo, Higgins, Lambert

Probably not perfect but I think that's a better team than the actual AA. Very easy to argue Gaff/Dangerfield over Lambert and I'm obviously biased but I think Lambert will take home Richmond's B&F this year. Can't not have the B&F of the Minor Premiers imo.

By my count, that's 7 players different. The bigger problem is the quality of the players missed (Lloyd, Macrae, Yeo in particular) and the absolute joke of leadership picks. Hurn and Riewoldt C and VC was probably the easiest thing for the selectors to get right and they didn't manage.

My arguments for players...
Lloyd: Probably Sydney's best player this year but don't think Stewart was a bad choice so ok with this.
Macrae: Brownlow contention before his injury and absolutely dominant at both getting the footy and using it. I believe he was better than Gaff this year and also better than Lambert (if you want to argue that Gaff has to be in the team).
Hawkins: Most important Cat this year and carried them to finals. Much more important to a better team than Gray this year. Easy swap.
Brown: Thought he was better in more games than Buddy but I can see the argument.
Caddy: Coin flip between Caddy and Gunston so don't mind it. Both top 10 goal scorers but feel like Caddy was much more of a true second fiddle which makes it more impressive that he scored 44 goals (and it makes more sense from a team-fit perspective).
Yeo: Best player on a Top 2 team doesn't make it? What a joke! He gets a bench spot for me because Oliver should've been on the ball, Dusty HFF (he played a lot of forward, led the comp for score assists and I50s), and Danger not even in the team. Baffling.
Lambert: Thought the Edwards pick was interesting and I know he's good but I thought Lambert was the best player in the best team. Can see arguments for Gaff taking this spot after losing his starting spot to Macrae and, to a lesser extent, Dangerfield.
