Opening game for Round 17 is Adelaide hosting Geelong on the last Thursday night game of 2018 (said that last week, oops).

Fresh off signing Sloane on for five more years, and on the back of a crushing defeat at the hands of Richmond last week, Crows having something to prove this week in front of a home crows. Geelong on the other hand are fighting to stay in the eight and would be aiming for one of the highly contested top four positions as the finals quickly approach.

Adelaide are one of the better sides out of the eight mind you, if they weren't ravaged by injuries and poor conditioning and the mind games stuff they would be in the pack. Geelong can take a little solace in that at least.

Reckon Adelaide are still too far back to be considered a chance for finals.
