I hope you’re not sitting on that side for the run hon e crowls, you’re a defender short......

GCSkiwi

Brayshaw, Henry and Murphy to Hoff, TMac and Mihocek.

Couple more trades the next week to rearrange the side, will leave me with:

Laird, TMac, Sicily, Yeo, Simmo, Webster  - Austin, Mihocek
Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Danger, Cripps, Treloar, Conigs, Dusty - Walters, Ahern, Giro
Gawn, Grundy - Olango
Heeney, Gray, Hoff, McLean, Franklin, D.Smith - Battle, Moore

Will have 4 trades and ~70k, little bit worried with question marks over Smith, McLean, Webster, and would really like to get Ahern to Fwd bench so Walters can cover both lines... But to get here with the carnage thus far I'm pretty happy, damage already done to ranking haha

jfitty

Easy for me this week:

Murphy > Mihocek
Doedee > Yeo

That just leaves 7 trades and 1 forward to bring in.

Few injury clouds this week, but fingers crossed!

He he he.   Left out Andrews.
Be glad when this year is over.     In top 1500 and yet feel like I have not managed the team well.  Been lucky to miss lots of injuries.     Just some spuds, dusty, billings and lobb.

Dusty Martin finally gets off my never again list and spends most of the year working as hard as possible to get back on it.   Some weeks I think I did a good thing corrective trade from bont to dusty in round 3.     Not so sure now.

North Melbournes Finest

Need some advice

1)
Ronke > Joel Smith
Henry > Chad Wingard / De Goey / Brayshaw

or

2)
Ronke > Mihocek
Henry > Harris Andrews / Crisp / Hurn / Hogan

Option 1 gives me the best bench cover, I think Joel Smith could average 80 the rest of the year, thoughts behind Wingard is that he could average 100 if he sticks midfield, Brayshaw has improves drastically and would have a midfield/backline link with SMith.

Option 2 - Gives me the guys who have the most solid body of work behind them and could probably bank on them to score 100 most weeks. Gives me worse bench cover for the rest of the year.

I don't expect TMac to maintain a 113avg, but I do think he is good enough to remain Top 6

Do I grab him, or is Hurley + 100k or Wingard + 160k better options?

strikeforce

I like both,

You could go Wingard this week and Hurley next as he has a be of 110 so wont go up much if at all

Might be a change of plans now - I might pass on TMac and save a trade

Hoff vs Hurley vs Wingard

I think it's down to Hoff vs Hurley. Wingard might go well, but for the sake of 60-80k I'm probably better going with the more proven Hoff or Hurley

I'd say Hurley for sure.. Thing about Hurley is he either goes back to his best (most likely) which is 120+ grabbing intercepts and kicking the ball around the back while we lose games, or he adjusts slightly and sits around 85-105 and is still a good option. TMac I highly doubt will stay near the top, Melbournes run has been as easy as possible and I think the rest of the season will be back to earth for him.

Fid

Thinking of grabbing TMac this week and Hurley next to complete the backs

This week

Doedee to McDonald
Coffield to Redman
Henry to Ahern

Next week

Austin to Hurley

Hey Guys

Webster out for a few throws a real spanner in the works for me... I'm low on trades already, if I trade him I'll be looking at running with 3 trades once I've finished my team. Pretty tempted just to hold, but my cover will be Mirra/Austin and one of Redman or Miho. I'm 6th/7th in my cash and office leagues, so I think I'll hold. Anyone got insight into who has better JS out of Redman or Miho? Both not great I realise...

I think Austin should play in Rnd 15, which is hopefully the only game Webster misses, so that should provide cover for you next week. With the lack of trades, do you really think it's worth getting Redman/Miho? Both JS are terrible.
I'm just going into this week with 16 players, (only 2 defenders that are playing) and thinking about the long term.

Disagree regarding Redman. Exactly what we need right now and I’d be stunned to see him dropped, only possibly in like 4 weeks if he’s had some stinkers. But he seems to suit the role.

I've got Ridley so I'm grabbing Redman - I'm hoping it's a good hedge bet in that at least one of them will be playing each week meaning I have bench cover

For that reason, I think I am also going to pick Hurley over TMac and bank the 100k, so that having all 3 Dons is insurance too
