BYE: GWS, MELBOURNE, NORTH MELBOURNE, ESSENDON, COLLINGWOOD, BRISBANE

BUBBLE BOYS
Will Brodie (MID) 187.7k
Michael Apeness (FWD) 153.7k
Scott Jones (RUC) 117.3k
Stefan Giro (MID) 102.4k
Roarke Smith (DEF) 158.3k

As far as I know, the only bubble boys worth consideration next week are Ahern and Mihocek, so if people need to grab a downgrade option this week I would think Giro is the pick of the bunch at such a cheap price, but will anyone be bring in Brodie?

Discuss your R13 trades! :)

I really hope there is no carnage as I only have 20 spots available with Gawn and Grundy out

Guelfi>JJK bit risky but I have bugger all money and my team is screwed so I'm taking the punt, leaves me with 19

RaisyDaisy

Gawn, Grundy, Goldy and Stef all having the bye means a lot of teams will only have 20 spots available. NicNat owners might get a leg up this round

I too have 20 spots available. If Laird and Dusty both return then I have 18 playing before trades, but I'll be trading Guelfi to Gray for sure, just need to decide if I want to make a second or third trade

I could also trade Fritsch to Hoff, but if Fritsch puts up another good score today then I reckon I might even just keep him as my permanent F6 and save the trade. I'll grab Ahern next week, and I reckon Fritsch/Ahern for F6/7 would be decent as long as I have 5 top forwards

Dom Barry to Giro is tempting, but I'm not sure if that's actually good use of a trade, especially because I'm running super low on trades too and still don't have a complete side

Might just try and do the 1 trade this week as I'll probably need to do 2 or 3 next week

Ringo

Early thoughts but will probably change.

Really have issues with forwards with only 2 available
Tim Smith to Giro via DPP
McKernan/Bundy to Rocky via DPP
Guelfi to Gray

SilverLion

ZGL --> Westhoff
Ronke --> Giro

Depending on how he goes today, Spargo --> Someone...

What two mids do you already have that have DPP for you to even do both of those trades?

Ricochet

Spargo to Giro will be one. Then not sure

Have 16 + Walters and Duman before that trade

Not sure why Giro would be a popular pick?

Scores of 39 and 63.  Has the round 14 bye, so you are trading in right before hand.  I get that he is 102k, but its how you use the cash that will be important.

I am considering Brodie instead.  Scores of 57 and 63.  More importantly will play the next two weeks when needed.  At $187k, he is 85k more expensive, but with injuries could play a good chunk of games as well.

Guess the main question is will these be bench keepers or cash cows?

Speculating on Ringos team, but I've moved some players around a bit during byes and currently have Heeney and Walters both in my mids - eg I traded Barry out, Walters to M, Sicily F to bring in Austin...

Giro is just a cash grab - you'd want him to be your M11 ideally, but he could be a lot of peoples M10

I've got Barry and Mutch clogging up M10/11, but I'm not sure they are worth using a trade on, especially for a measly 85k gain (Barry to Giro)

Freo are blooding all their kids so Giro might get a decent run. Brodie putting up similar numbers but costing so much more makes it hard to justify picking him I think, even with the extra game although I haven't completely ruled him out

Ah yes that would make the most sense :)

Spargo to Giro is 150k in the coffers, that money is critical. It also provides cover for Walters who will be rubbed out. I basically have two downgrades left so I'm not willing to settle on anything less than 300k combined. Next week it will be ZGL/Phillips to Ahern.

These next two byes aren't looking good for me at all, (only 16 playing both weeks), I honestly think it's better to just forget about them and focus on long-term plans to win my league finals, as if I try and block the holes I'll be left with about 4 trades for the last 8 weeks, which is horrible.

I have 660k in the bank currently...
Round 13 Guelfi > Mclean.
Round 14 Spargo/Phillips > mid rookie & Keeffe/T Smith> a fwd premo (haven't decided)
And then Round 15 Holman > Macrae.

That will leave me with 6 trades for the rest of the season, no money but Fritsch and Doedee the only rookies on field.

Hopefully restore the DPP with Ahern Rd 14

dylanclements

Ronke > McLean
Ridley > Simpson
Brayshaw > Giro

Amazingly my plan to get my team off life support is looking pretty plausible

batt

Fritsch, ZGL and Henry out.

JJK, Hurn/Yeo/Simmo, Gray/Hoff in.
