Ive gone from having 22 to potentially having 17 if Conigs and Laird don't play. Going to have to do a trade or 2 that I didn't want to just to field a side
That's when you have to ask yourself if it's worth trading. You may get more points this week, but if it's disrupting trade plans/structures will you end up losing more points in the long run? Will you miss the premo/s u wanted? Delay getting premos and copping rookie scores for longer? Run out of trades  towards the finals? Trade a rookie early and miss more cash generation?
It's only one round, and while donuts are crap, are u better off making up the points in the other byes and beyond?

This is what I am considering as well do I trade to ensure 18 with all the outs or take the risk and wait to get right premos rather than mid price ones eg Boak, Gray, Rocky or Miller.

Ridley  might get dropped for Francis
I saw Francis was in the best again in the VFL and immediately thought that myself :-\

Don't worry Dom Barry our saviour will return this week and provide us with a solid 30  ;D ;D

I'd love it if Barry and Mutch both returned - I could really use their combined 50!

Ridley looks like another casuality

Reckon I can field 15 this week lol  :'(

There is a fair chance Ridley is injured/dropped for Francis & Tim Smith dropped for Weideman on top of Fyfe, Laird & Coniglio all missing.

These 5 outs would certainly test a few teams and Ridley/Smith would be difficult to trade considering they have no value.

If you were facing a donut in this potential scenario, would you sideways trade Fyfe, Laird or Coniglio to avoid it?

shaker

With Fyfe out and if Cogs and Laird miss then Ridley Spargo Smith all get dumped and Rioli takes Higgins spot I'll have a grand total of 13 playing without trades and I wasn't planning doing any trades  :P awesome

I wouldn't waste a trade, unless you are trading in Hoff you are pretty much robbing Peter to pay Paul

Say for example you are looking ok to field 19-22 next week though. Fyfe will return, Coniglio, Ridley & Smith are already missing with their bye anyway and Laird's hand issue is only looking like a 1 week injury.

With Coniglio possibly a fringe Top 8 midfielder, would it be worth trading him to Treloar/Oliver (share same bye) who are at least playing this week and will save a donut?

Ricochet

Yeh I would only consider trading Conigs

For those with a couple luxury trades banked I would consider this as a positive move.  Having one less in the last couple rounds shouldn't hurt barring carnage.

I used my luxury trade on Rocky last week  ;D ... now wish I could have gotten T.Kelly's score and done the Coniglio -> Rocky luxury trade this week  :-[

Yeah maybe in that case it may be worth it,

40-50k + Trade + poentially 5-10ppg better player

vs

Saved Trade + Donut

Looking at like that actually makes it seem like a good idea haha

Short term thinking - I think you'd be crazy to trade out Conigs or Fyfe

Let's be serious, unless you are in with a legit chance to finish 1st overall and win the cash, cop the donuts and prepare yourself to have really good weeks in the next two byes

Okay RD,

Currently 3rd overall (202 points behind 1st).  Reckon i'm a legit chance for 1st overall:  Whats your thoughts?  Bank is $70,800.

Started with 22 available.

Injured/Suspended:  Laird, Fyfe, Conigs??
Unlikely/Dropped: Keefe, Murphy??, Coffield??, TSmith??

Max 19, Min 15.

Defence:
Rnd 12 Bye:  YEO, SIMPSON
Rnd 13 Bye:  Brayshaw, Keefe
Rnd 14 Bye:  LLYOD, LAIRD, Doedee, Murphy

Midfield:
Rnd 12 Bye:  MACRAE, MITCHELL, CRIPPS
Rnd 13 Bye:  OLIVER, CONIGLIO, Spargo
Rnd 14 Bye:  FYFE, CROUCH, MARTIN, Coffield, Phillips

Rucks:
Rnd 12 Bye: Olango
Rnd 13 Bye: GAWN, GOLDSTEIN

Forwards:
Rnd 12 Bye: MCLEAN, SICILY
Rnd 13 Bye: DSMITH, Fritsch, Guelfi, TSmith
Rnd 14 Bye: HEENEY
Bye Free:     GRAY

Only viable upgrade option I've considered is Westhoff.  So Conigs out would only be -5k. Could move Westhoff to forwards in Round 13 to remove Guelfi and provide some balance to the forwards.  Wouldn't know which midfielder to bring in during round 13 if that's the case (effecively to replace Conigs).

_wato

If Coniglio is out I'll definitely consider trading to miss copping a donut. Means I miss my Fritsch > Buddy trade but would make up for it by going a Rd 14 mid prem. Duncan/Jelwood are looking juicy.
