Surprised there isn't a topic already about him.

The Top 5 ruckmen at the beginning of Round 10 (by total points) were:

1. Gawn averaging 131.7
2. Grundy averaging 123.7
3. Sinclair averaging 102.4
4. Martin averaging 101.8
5. Sandilands averaging 100.4

These 5 ruckmen were the only ones to be averaging 100+ points and that have also played every game.

Since it seems clear that Grundy will be in the top 2 rucks come season's end, how much of a necessity is it to get him in?

For people with a Goldstein/Jacobs/Naitanui type, I feel the swap has to be made at some stage.

But how about for people (like myself) with one of Sinclair, Martin or Sandilands? Is he a must? Its clear that overall, Grundy would give more points, but is it enough to justify a trade?

It's all about making up points.
If you can make up more points by getting him in as opposed to trading elsewhere then get him.
I have NicNat, and I can't see myself getting Grundy in just yet. Have more serious issues.

Went Jacobs to Grundy in R9.
Grundy was my VC this week.
He not only provides more points but also another C/VC option in the form he's in and with question marks over the tagging and playing fwd of some of the mid premos it makes more sense to trade him in. Number of trades used/ left will probably be main thing for some to consider. In my case though Jacobs simply had to go.

For those that have either 1 of gawn or grundy kruezer could b a good pod to make up points

Kreuzer back in form, definitely one to consider.

Need to get him. Goldy will turn into him during the byes

I think he seems almost a must have. He is averaging 20-25 more than any other ruck except Gawn who we all have, and thats just too many points to be throwing away.

You'd have to think the way he is playing he keeps it up too, he wont get tagged, he wont spend long periods forward, outside of injury (and he has never missed many games) there is no reason to beleive he wont keep it up. As someone else said, also a great C/VC option.

Think at this stage I’d just prefer Ryder but that’s because he gives me an extra premo score come Round 13.

If Grundy averages 20 more than Ryder from here thats 220 more points than Ryder, you wont make that back in one extra game. Plus the good Captain option. I can see sticking by a ruck you have but if your going to use a trade on the rucks I just think it has to be on Grundy.

No need to trade Goldy, he's on fire  8)
But in all seriousness I'll be doing the same asap

Worth noting that Grundy's rucking opponents so far have been some of the weaker ones and with Sandilands and Gawn the next two weeks are likely to see him drop to around the 100 mark rather than 110-150. For those that want to get him in, might be an option to wait til after his bye once he's played those two games.

Was just thinking the same. Has the 2 hardest match ups coming so hopefully a price drop

Sandi was concussed so may not play against him this week

I am happy with my Gawn Martin combination - Brundy had his 3rd lowest score of the season 110 when he played Brisbane (Stef scored 114) so expect when he does come up against fellow top tier ruckman to expect his scores to be lower.  Will be interesting to see his score when he plays Gawn in 2 weeks time as Martin only scored 63 when he palyed Gawn.  This score drags his average down.

Think the Top 3 though definitely Gawn, Grudy and Martin.

Not to sure you can count on playing good ruck opposition will slow him to much he had 21 C/P this week that is the stuff of premo mids
