Webster is someone that has flown way under the radar.
He's averaging 105 from 6 games, has come back from his injury extremely well against decent teams (112, 105, 132), and as St Kilda have a tough run coming up, the ball will be in his vicinity quite a bit.
Also, his stats aren't very impressive, but it seems like he's a CD golden child, so he has a pretty high floor.

Defence is very thin this year. Laird, Sicily and Yeo are the clear top 3, but then guys like Howe, Hurley, Simpson, Savage and Lloyd haven't been consistent, which leaves a great opportunity for Webster to finish top 6 (especially if Sicily is fwd).

What are your thoughts on him? I'm honestly thinking of going Naughton > Webster, as I rate him higher than Simmo.

sammy123

Pretty sure he has that horrible rd 14 bye. Other than that he is a good option

fanTCfool

Dylan Roberton out has given his stocks a massive boost, definitely on the watchlist.

Hippo

I like him and don't really see another option for me.

I have Laird, Yeo, Sicily and Simpson already.

Hurley out and don't want to pick a guy who has gone in for hamstring scans in Howe.

Theres McDonald but i have a Dees player on every other line so its not ideal.

Only one guy in the top 10 has him too, its the play i have to make i think.

All roads point to Webster.

Holz

What about lloyd or hurn?

Hippo

Never really considered hurn tbh, guess I just never trusted him. His finish to last yr and this yr is very solid, food for thought

Webster is a really good POD so in your case I would seriously consider him. Hurn I would look at after his bye as you already have 3 premos in defence with the same bye.

quinny88

Wouldn't go near Lloyd, boring as it gets and rarely goes big. Hurn and Webster both great POD's though

GCSkiwi

Webster looks like a good POD from 6 games, but his career stats don't make for reassuring reading... Last year was his best season, playing 18 games for 71pt avg. Other than that a string of 11 game seasons and mid 60s scores. He could be a masterstroke, but I wouldn't be convinced. I think there's enough solid performers in Laird, Sicily, Yeo, Simmo, Hurn, Hurley to fill your line before Webster. I could be wrong, we'll see.

That's why I said rarely and not never haha. Can pencil him for an 80-95 most weeks

Ricochet

Currently have Laird, Yeo, Howe, Sicily, Simpson, ??

Will probably look at Hurley before Webster and then it'll depend whether Sicily stays in defence or I flick him fwd. Websters numbers are getting hard to ignore

That's an amazing backline at this relatively early stage in the season Ricochet!

Can I ask which rookies you've already upgraded?

It is nice, but it also relative to what the mids/fwds look like.

Murray is the only one left. Finlayson and Doedee are gone

Yep always the case. Have Goldy so he's a concern, and Dahl is just hanging in there atm

Fyfe, TMitch, Dusty, Cripps, Neale, Pendles, Conigs, TKelly
Gawn, Goldy
McLean, Hogan, Walters, DSmith, Dahl, Fritsch
