Each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week.

The facts & thoughts:

Jack Macrae
Last 3: 155, 151, 145 (150 avg)
Last 3 against Adelaide: 103, 93, 89 (95 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 103, 97, 130 (110 avg)

My top pick and he scored 150 again last week. With a 3 game average like that, you have to give him the C if you have him. I'm very annoyed that I don't. Prediction - 150

Robbie Gray
Last 3: 104, 91, 101 (99 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 66, 61, 130 (86 avg)
Last 3 at China: 61 (61 avg)

Wanted to pick one player from the China game just to talk about it. I wouldn't captain anyone in this game. Too much travel and distraction. Prediction - 95

Dyson Heppell
Last 3: 91, 114, 76 (94 avg)
Last 3 against Geelong: 100, 111, 152 (121 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 91, 114, 103 (103 avg)

Heppell loves to play the Cats but he's a rollercoaster each week so it's too risky for me. Prediction - 115

Mitch Duncan
Last 3: 100, 115, 105 (107 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 91, 102, 89 (94 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 100, 110, 160 (123 avg)

Duncan's the most consistent of the Cats midfielders but he doesn't have anything exciting against the Bombers. Prediction - 100

Josh P. Kennedy
Last 3: 62, 122, 111 (98 avg)
Last 3 against Fremantle: 156, 141, 93 (130 avg)
Last 3 at SCG: 122, 66, 100 (96 avg)

JPK loves to play the Dockers but I think he's too risky with a high tag risk. Banfield's shutting down his opponents very well for a first year player. Prediction - 110

Nat Fyfe
Last 3: 106, 128, 101 (112 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 107, 99, 115 (107 avg)
Last 3 at SCG: 107, 114, 116 (112 avg)

Fyfe's in pretty good form right now but isn't going as big as I've predicted him to. Against the Swans, he should be good but maybe not great. Prediction - 115

Jack Steven
Last 3: 90, 95, 100 (95 avg)
Last 3 against Collingwood: 133, 138, 72 (114 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 95, 104, 99 (99 avg)

Huge POD option if you've got him. The Pies are just about the easiest midfield to score against and Jack loves playing them. Will finally avoid a tag this week. Prediction - 130

Adam Treloar
Last 3: 113, 100, 147 (120 avg)
Last 3 against St Kilda: 93, 85, 109 (96 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 103, 114, 93 (103 avg)

Treloar sucks against the Saints just plain suck, giving up 11 tons in the last two weeks. Prediction - 115

Brodie Grundy
Last 3: 128, 111, 115 (118 avg)
Last 3 against St Kilda: 118, 91, 102 (104 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 103, 127, 118 (116 avg)

Form is good and Grundy's good against the Saints too. Prediction - 115

Max Gawn
Last 3: 111, 111, 135 (119 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 76, 95, 105 (92 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 143, 127, 114 (128 avg)

Gawn's not that great against the Blues, with or without Kreuzer, but his form this year is hard to look past, particularly at the 'G. Prediction - 120

Clayton Oliver
Last 3: 122, 107, 78 (102 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 106, 135, 93 (111 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 114, 105, 88 (102 avg)

When the Dees are up, Oliver is too. I can't imagine Carlton challenging them so expect another good score from Clayton. Prediction - 115

Dayne Zorko
Last 3: 115, 176, 43 (111 avg)
Last 3 against Hawthorn: 125, 106, 89 (107 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 176, 55, 109 (113 avg)

Yes, Zorko is actually back. He'll probably get tagged again but he's kicking goals and getting more of the ball. Don't expect another 176 but he's worth looking at. Prediction - 115

Stef Martin
Last 3: 113, 130, 92 (112 avg)
Last 3 against Hawthorn: 134, 44, 107 (95 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 130, 99, 68 (99 avg)

Stef scored big last time he played the Hawks and I can't see why he wouldn't again, given his form. Prediction - 120

Tom Mitchell
Last 3: 58, 119, 147 (108 avg)
Last 3 against Brisbane: 132, 106, 93 (110 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 106, 93 (66 avg)

The Lions chose to tag Smith last time these two met but I highly doubt they leave Mitchell alone this time. He's been getting killed by tags and Robertson's no slouch. I'm worried. Prediction - 85

Andrew Gaff
Last 3: 86, 110, 120 (105 avg)
Last 3 against Richmond: 107, 108, 110 (108 avg)
Last 3 at Perth: 110, 120, 122 (117 avg)

Gaff at Perth against a team he likes to play. Richmond aren't exactly easy to score against but there's enough going right. Prediction - 115

Dustin Martin
Last 3: 48, 93, 101 (81 avg)
Last 3 against West Coast: 156, 68, 150 (125 avg)
Last 3 at Perth: N/A

Dusty's still battling right now but he's gone huge on the Eagles before. Could he again? Prediction - 85

LAHUG'S POD!

Gary Ablett
Last 3: 105, 71, 138 (105 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 134, 136, 160 (143 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 105, 138, 117 (120 avg)

GAJ got through last week unscathed and now plays a team he absolutely loves to smash. If you held him through his injury, a double POD is on the cards if you give him the C. Prediction - 135

The verdict:
1.   Jack Macrae (150)
2.   Gary Ablett (135)
3.   Jack Steven (130)
4.   Max Gawn (120)
5.   Stef Martin (120)

Think he has once this year haha
He has been used as a tagger twice this year on Jack Steven in Rd 1 and think he ran with Ainsworth in Suns game.  From observations he also seems to have a role in defense on the resting mid fielders.
Mitch Robbo on the other hand has been starting in the guts in all games. So if a tag is to be applied to Mitchell on Sunday would say more than likely will go to Nick Robbo. Zorko may also be given a run with role similar to his role with Sidey in the Collingwood game in an attempt to get him on the ball.

LaHug

If Zorko runs with instead, it will be awesome for Mitchell. But I think Nick Robertson will go to him.
