76% DE from 17 touches, let us assume all the handballs were effective because only spuds miss opponents by hand. 12 effective handball is about 18 points. 1 effective kick gives you 4 points or so. 1 clanger kick gives -4ish, and 2 ineffective for 0-2 points. So about 20 points for the touches. The mark and 6 tackles gets about 25 points. 10 points for the goal. 0 points for the clearances. 10 points for the goal assists, probably another 10 for the behind assists. I don't have his HTA stats. Add maybe an extra 20 for contested possessions, gets him to 95 points. Take away another 8 points for the frees against. 87 all up. 27 points left for HTA which is definitely possible.

Your assumption that all handballs are effective is flawed as you can handball it to a guy and he is instantly tackled and thats ineffective but lets assume the worst.

So 14 points for the handballs

So lets be super harsh and give nothing for the kicks

Then the 6 tackles and the 1 contested marks is more like 30 points

then ill give 10 for the goal like you

10 for the goal assists like you

10 for the behind assists like you

Yeah I wasn't sure if a contested handball got the same amount

Tackles are generally 3 points more often than not

FF are counted as CPs, hence why I didn't include them (also counted the contested mark as a CP already)

We also don't know how many hitouts were sharked. What the state of the game was for each stat. Personally, unless he got a lot of HTA, I'd say his score is pretty close to what he deserved.

Decent possession and tackle numbers though plus a goal. Hope he keeps it up but I'm doubtful

I like North & Goldstein, but I don't understand why you are so hellbent on defending him. He isn't a premium ruck this year and is way off the standard required. Owners have a right to be annoyed.
