Do we have to jump off this spud immediately? I hate him.

ubeaut

I hate him too. And myself for buying into the hype and not starting Lycett, which would have saved 250 k AND made 150k all for 6 points difference in avg!
People said Lycett was risky, shouldn't have listened. Vardy out and English as back up? Safe as houses!

Anyway like Billings he's lost too much cash to trade for me. 100k for Martin, but Grundy is the best and would cost 180k.
My money is better off spent upgrading rest of team. But everyone's situation maybe different.

Dazzalenko

Such a frustrating premo, hasn't cracked the ton in forever and doesn't look like that will change anytime soon, grabbing Grundy at some point is a must this season

RaisyDaisy

Frustrating no doubt, but at his current price and compared to the price of say Grundy I think it's best to hold for now

Get your other lines sorted, and then during the byes might be the best time to punt Goldy

He might be costing us approx 30ish points per week, but you can make that up elsewhere by having a prem over a rookie so just focus on the overall team output and then move him on when you're in a position to do so

I'd be turning people like Banfield/Holman to Crouch before I worried about Goldy

quinny88

Plays against Nank this weekend who is much shorter and regularly concedes large hitout numbers. If he can't go big against him then he's stuffed. Have no choice but to hold him now and maybe upgrade during the byes

Hazza09

Along with Billings has been the story of my season.

I wish he didn't start the season of as he did or i would have made the correction trade after Rd 2, got sucked in and now I'm paying for it.

I think we’re past the point where he’s stuffed seeing as he couldn’t put out a decent score against the Dixon/Westhoff/Howard combo :-\

A sideways to Ryder could be on the cards if Ryder starts showing something. Has 2 x 60's in his average and will drop significantly, and has the early bye. If he starts banging out 100's im doing the trade.

he has 38 and 40 HO in the last two weeks so he is winning the ruck contest easily, so that must not be the issue.

He must be getting awarded no HTA to advantage if he was just getting 20% of HTA then he would have got 40 points from them alone.

The issue is while he is wining the hit outs quite easily the opponent mids are beating out North's

They lost the clearances 41 to 31 against Sydney and 38 to 32 against port.

So him winning all the HOs isn't that helpful, especially when you lose points if the opponent mids get away with the ball. Which is a joke as you can hit it a 50/50 and if the north guy gets it and breaks away then its a HTA and +5 and if the opponents gets its and breaks away then its -1 for the identical tap.

The problem isn't the hit outs

The problem is that hitting out is all he bloody does now

Does nothing else around the ground like he used to, and that's where the loss of points has occurred

It's been obvious to me for a long time his problem is that he is not doing enough around the ground 6K , 2HB , 2M , 1T, 4CP is not enough Sinclair went 12 , 8 , 8 , 2 and 9 he looks slow and awkward compared to the leading rucks maybe the game has just gone past him.

quinny88

Wha a fall from grace. He was a genuine superstar 18 months ago

The problem is that hitting out is all he bloody does now

its 100% the hitouts

in 2016 he averaged 108 with 13.7 touches, 3.1 marks, 3 tackles and 0.9 goals
in 2017 he averaged 95 with 13.4 touches, 2.8 marks, 2.9 tackles and 0.6 goals

this year he has gone 86 with 12.6 touches, 3 marks, 2.3 tackles and 0.1 goals.

I think the goals are hurting him a little bit compared to 16 maybe 10 points a game (if you count the kick aswell) then 1 less tackle so 4 points then the rest must be HOTA

the odds all point to him being not as far off his best as the SC score is indicating. Thats what makes it soo difficult.

realistically your getting about 90% of what he has put up for most of his career for under 80% of the SC points.

RaisyDaisy

Problem is, stats don't show the impact of them

He might still be getting similar numbers, but every time I've watched him they are touches that don't have any impact

He doesn't take contested marks much any more, and most of his touches now seem to be dinky handballs or kicks that don't have any real impact

Stats wise he might be similar, but I think the impact of those stats is well down and that's a big part of SC scoring too

He has no influence on games, where as he used to have a big influence and that's SC gold
