Was looking through for a thread like this but love seeing everyones predictions for who the top 10 midfielders will be by seasons end.
Now that we are a quarter way through the season who do we think will be top 10?

Maybe. Tag worries me.

I currently have Titch, Dusty, Fyfe, Oliver, Kelly and Conigs

I'm hoping 2 of Macrae, Cripps, Crouch or Danger can fill my last two spots

Honestly don't know if Danger will be a must this year, or more so that not having him won't be as bad as previous years so for now I'm not even worrying about getting him, but that could change

I'm sure there will be more injuries though, so I could end up getting all 4 eventually lol

I think you want 8 of the following and you'll be in a good spot

Danger, Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, Macrae, Oliver, Cripps, Kelly, Crouch, Conigs, Neale, Zerrett, Pendles, Treloar, Jelwood

dmac07

Group 1
Martin
Cripps
Fyfe
Danger
Mitchell
Oliver

Group 2
Macrae
Crouch
Sloane
Merrett
Treloar
Pendles
Congilio
J.Kelly
Selwood
Neale
Ablett
Bontempelli

I think group 1 all make the top 10-12. I have 5 of that group and will aim to get Danger in. I think group 2 is where it gets interesting, all capable of top 10 but think only a few spots. Crouch, Treloar, Coniglio is who I would have top of that group right now, though Macrae is surprising me.

RaisyDaisy

Agree with that dmac, although I'd have Macrae in Group 1 now. Even though I have him, Oliver probably top of Group 2 but that's just getting picky

By average, I think the top 10 will be:
Mitchell
Martin
Danger
Fyfe
Cripps
Macrae
M. Crouch
Oliver
Coniglio
Neale

But any of these guys would also be great options:
Merrett
Bontempelli
Crouch
Treloar
Pendlebury
J. Kelly
J. Selwood
Ablett
Duncan
Kennedy
Parker
Gaff

My perception of things, because this is fun (rankings for the rest of the season):

Group 0 (are averaging 120+ and have done (or come close to doing) it before)
Titch
Fyfe

Group 1 (can average 140 for long stretches)
Martin
Danger

Group 2 (could average 120 ROS but it would be the first time doing so)
Cripps
Macrae
Oliver

Group 3 (120 unlikely for differing reasons)
Crouch
Ablett
Pendles
Congilio
J.Kelly

Group 4 (115 a realistic possibility)
Sloane
Treloar
Selwood
Neale
Bontempelli
Merrett

RaisyDaisy

It's a long season lads

Not many players can maintain 115 let alone 110

Will be curious to look back on this at the end of the year

My question is how important is it to have the very best midfielders?

I'm considering getting in Crouch next week with his discounted price but that would give me 8 premium mids but no Dusty. (Titch, Fyfe, Danger, Crouch, Cripps, Treloar, Zerrett, Coniglio).

IIRC Dusty was $520k around this time last year.  So you would be betting on him not making the similar jump that he did last season.

Agree almost completely (only 2 changes):

M.Crouch moves up to in G2 if you are upgrading (and avoided his injury score).
Swap Pendles and Treloar.

*edit* 3rd change GAJ into G0 cause he will get the average but misses to many games.
