Each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week.

The facts & thoughts:

Jack Macrae
Last 3: 99, 128, 116 (114 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 123, 101, 109 (111 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 128, 116, 134 (126 avg)

Always a chance that Curnow tags this week but the Blues weren't tagging last week and that's good news for Macrae. He still managed a 99 last week despite some attention so I'm liking him a lot back at home. Prediction - 120

Patrick Dangerfield
Last 3: 109, 97, 102 (103 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 140, 138, 139 (139 avg)
Last 3 at Kardinia: 97, 114, 130 (114 avg)

Danger is still a bit quiet this year but he goes better without Jelwood in the team. Last year, he average 128 in 4 games without his skipper (compared to 119 with Joel). Scratch all that, Selwood challenged and got off. Still, he loves to smash the Swans and averages 123 at Kardinia since becoming a Cat. Prediction - 125

Robbie Gray
Last 3: 126, 117, 89 (111 avg)
Last 3 against North: 83, 122, 71 (92 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 117, 78, 122 (106 avg)

Almost a must-have forward now, Gray is playing as a midfielder and killing it. My concern this week (and hope as a non-owner) is the Jacobs tag. I think it goes to Wines though. Prediction - 115

Stephen Coniglio
Last 3: 112, 121, 111 (115 avg)
Last 3 against Brisbane: 95, 38, 118 (84 avg)
Last 3 at Showgrounds: 121, 97, 104 (107 avg)

The fact that 112 seems quiet shows that Cogs is a monster this year. Expect more of the same. Prediction - 120

Tom Mitchell
Last 3: 83, 83, 148 (105 avg)
Last 3 against St Kilda: 125, 90, 142 (119 avg)
Last 3 at Launceston: 118, 143, 132 (131 avg)

The tag is a real threat for Mitchell now. Two 83s in a row and he looks vulnerable. Dunstan kept Sloane to just 15 touches in Round 3 and I'm very afraid of Tom being shut down for the third week in a row. Will only ton because of the Tassie factor. Prediction - 105

Rory Laird
Last 3: 89, 115, 120 (108 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 113, 104, 99 (105 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 115, 141, 116 (124 avg)

Disappointing last week but Laird is back at home for the next four. He loves it there and he's good against the Suns too. Prediction - 115

Bryce Gibbs
Last 3: 65, 113, 129 (102 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 194, 95, 87 (125 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 113, 101, 113 (109 avg)

Tag threat until Sloane is back which is a real shame considering that 194 he scored against the Suns. After seeing what Miller did to Zorko though, I'm not game. Prediction - 90

Merrett
Last 3: 109, 121, 60 (97 avg)
Last 3 against Melbourne: 108, 136, 84 (109 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 121, 60, 23 (68 avg)

Back to back tons after averaging 70s in the opening 3 rounds. Good news for those that held Merrett and better news for those about to bring him in. He likes to play the Dees too. Prediction - 115

Gawn
Last 3: 143, 127, 114 (128 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 61, 146, 56 (88 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 32, 111, 102 (82 avg)

Big Max is on fire and I can't see any reason he won't smash the Bombers and continue his good form. Prediction - 125

Treloar
Last 3: 122, 135, 84 (114 avg)
Last 3 against Richmond: 127, 115, 97 (113 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 122, 84, 90 (99 avg)

Treloar loves to play the Tigers and has been great against them since joining the "better list" (still funny). He's back in form after a bumpy start and I like him again this week. Prediction - 125

Grundy
Last 3: 110, 126, 141 (126 avg)
Last 3 against Richmond: 123, 99, 91 (104 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 110, 141, 127 (126 avg)

But I like Grundy even more. You saw what Max did on Tuesday and the Tigers don't care if opposition rucks get a lot of hitouts, as long as they still win. Prediction - 135

D. Martin
Last 3: 73, 111, 67 (84 avg)
Last 3 against Collingwood: 86, 110, 114 (103 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 73, 111, 67 (84 avg)

Dusty absolutely sucks this year when he doesn't kick a goal, which means he's spending too much time forward (where's our DPP??). Too much risk until he gets back to midfield time. Prediction - 90

Nat Fyfe
Last 3: 136, 91, 144 (124 avg)
Last 3 against West Coast: 109, 64, 122 (98 avg)
Last 3 at Perth: 136, 144, 123 (134 avg)

I was right. Fyfe is a beast at this new Perth Stadium. Any week he plays there, you can safely back him. Prediction - 135

Andrew Gaff
Last 3: 99, 122, 120 (114 avg)
Last 3 against Fremantle: 114, 109, 57 (93 avg)
Last 3 at Perth: 122, 120, 96 (113 avg)

While we're all staring at Fyfe's scores, Gaff has started showing he likes this stadium too. You can back in a 120-odd every time he's there. Prediction - 120

LAHUG'S POD!

Todd Goldstein
Last 3: 79, 65, 60 (68 avg)
Last 3 against Port: 58, 81, 103 (81 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 79, 117, 98 (98 avg)

Rucks against Port: Stanley - 45 hitouts, Bellcho - 45 hitouts, Martin - 49 hitouts, Sinclair - 44 hitouts, Sandilands - 52 hitouts. No Ryder means Goldstein starts with 50 free points from hitouts alone. All that said, he's averaging 30 hitouts right now so 15 more isn't likely to be the difference considering his paltry scores. Worth a punt but not for me. Prediction - 95

The verdict:
1.   Nat Fyfe (135)
2.   Brodie Grundy (135)
3.   Patrick Dangerfield (125)
4.   Max Gawn (125)
5.   Stephen Coniglio (120)

Added last two games and poll updated accordingly.

Agree with everything Huggy, so not a go at you what so ever, but for all of us, Tommy was a lock every week for the rest of the year up until 2 weeks ago. Now we all gotta think, which for me, is headache material. Stop tagging Tommy ffs !!!!!!!!

Think I left the C off Mitchell a week too long :-\

LaHug

They moved Dunstan onto him way too late. Bad coaching but good job everyone that put the C back on him.

Macrae in RDT wasn't too shabby either  ;)

Stuck with the pig, only thing that's working out this weekend
